Currently (June 2014 edition)

Hi guys!  I’m heading back to Mumbai in a few days and can’t believe how quickly these past 6 weeks flew by- I feel like I just got to London last week.  As much as I love being here & in holiday mode, part of me is looking forward to getting back into a proper routine.  July, I’m ready for ya!  I really enjoyed filling in the Currently survey last month, so thought I’d wrap up June with the same.

Current Book:  A few friends gave me a bunch of nutrition-related & recipe books for my birthday so I’m slowly making my way through them.  Cameron Diaz’s The Body Book is currently on my bedside table & I’m bookmarking recipes from Straight From the Earth.  The latter is full of fantastic vegan meals!

Current Guilty Pleasure: Watching Friends reruns every.single.day.  That show just never gets old.  Fun fact: Monica & Chandler’s twins would be 10 this year and Emma would be turning 12- how old do you feel right now!

Current Music: I’ve been listen to the DJ Tiesto remix of John Legend’s All of Me on repeat all week and am nowhere near of sick of it:

Current Drink: Soy Dirty Chai Tea Lattes i.e. chai tea lattes with a shot of espresso.  Trust me- you NEED to try this!  I just hope the baristas in Mumbai can execute it properly ;).

Current Nail Color: Essie Raspberry on my toenails.

Current Wish: I wish PRAY that my luggage is not overweight at the airport on Wednesday.

Current Obsession: Taking photos of nature- I just can’t get over all the greenery and blue skies…so gorgeous!

Current Need: A massage…badly!

Current Triumph: I’m pretty chuffed that over the past 4 weeks, I’ve managed to increase the weights I use in Body Pump.  It’s amazing how well our bodies can adjust and respond when it comes to fitness.

Current Bane of My Existence: Nada to complain about…at least not for now!

Current Food: Although I don’t eat them often, burgers definitely come in as one of my favorite foods.  Sorry to all my vegan/vegetarian friends but when I say burgers, I mean the beef varieties.  As it’s rare (see what I did there 😉) to find a decent one in Mumbai, I’ve been sure to get my fix in London.

Current Indulgence: Al fresco drinks while catching up with best friends…it really doesn’t get better than that!

Current Procrastination: Packing.  Don’t you hate when you realize that you didn’t end up wearing half of what you brought on holiday!

Current Blessing: Between travelling to Gleneagles, Paris and being in London, I feel so blessed & grateful to have been able to enjoy such an amazing summer.

Current Mood: Happy    ♫♫Clap along if you feel like that’s what you want to do♫♫

  1. Current Procrastination: Unpacking! Always always hate it! Been back from London a few days now and barely touched a suitcase! (& I hear you on the burgers – did the same when I was in town!)

  2. I am so “chuffed” you increased the weight you use in BP too! It’s such a good feeling to know you are getting stronger! Travel hacks #11 and #17 are simply brilliant – a collar held up by a belt?!?!?! BRILLIANT!
My current procrastination…getting to work this morning!
Drink would be CLICK mocha protein drinks
Food …would have to be beet crust pizza
and my past, current and future Blessing has and always will be my daughter – and just life in general…feel blessed more than I deserve to be.
Safe travels back to Mumbai Khushboo.

  3. oh the dreaded airport scales…they actually cause me anxiety lol!

Looks like you lapped up London in style…al fresco dining is one of the BEST things about warm, pleasant weather. And let’s not mention the antipasto platter.

    1. Haha I am always so anxious on the car ride to the airport- I feel like I can only breathe post-check in!

  4. Can I just say I love all the music in this post. It kind of makes me want to dance. Dance I say.

Safe travels back to Mumbai and your beautiful swimming pool, which is almost as fabulous as that antipasti platter.

My current drink is coffee (after all it’s only 7 am here) and my current mood is fussy since it’s Monday and I have to go back to work today. Grumble, grumble. Maybe I need to go back to your happy music. …. Ah yes, better now. 🙂

  5. Whaaaat your time in London is already over?? I really think we should try to make a meetup possible next time when you are in Europe.

Procrastination: Packing stuff for my move! I really need the HIGH time-pressure to actually start.

Food: Just demolished a huge portion of homemade spicy sweet potato wedges. I didn’t want them to end!!

  6. LOVE Friends reruns too! Like you said – it never gets old or fails to make me laugh.

My current procrastination: I spent way too much time on reddit yesterday rather than working on my report!

My current drink: Well, I had a lot of amaretto this weekend, but after my hangover yesterday I don’t want to touch that stuff for a while. 😛

My current food: Just having a bowl of kefir, oats, chia seeds, banana, and almond butter for breakfast right now.

My current blessing: Air conditioning!! Haha.

  7. I’ve actually been getting better with packing only what I need! Mostly because I opted to buy a smaller suitcase to literally force myself to take less — it’s been surprisingly successful 😉 One thing I do need to get better at is replying to e-mails in a more timely manner, though… My inbox kind of scares me 😯

    1. I am in search for a new suitcase but no luck yet- maybe I should quit with my ‘the bigger the better’ mentality!!

  8. Ahhhh I need to try a chai latte like that!! Chai is one of my all time favorites! Though currently I’m having fun experimenting with coffee. Sounds odd, but the last couple of day have been the first few times that I have actually made coffee myself! I’ve always just drunken tea, but I’m slowly beginning to like coffee (only decaf though). Before the only way I liked to drink coffee was when it was accompanied with lots of chocolate. 😉

  9. Hope you have a safe flight.
I just wanted to say thank you once again for meeting me while you were here . Your a star. Next time we will drink dirty chai!

  10. I procrastinate with packing, but not so much with unpacking? I guess it’s cause I need to use at least half the stuff that I bring back right away 😛
