New Year’s Eve, we meet again!  I feel like it was just a few weeks ago that I was getting on the boat to Alibag to welcome 2012.  Although December 31st tends to be quite hyped up, I am looking forward to a low-key night later.  So long as I am with good friends, elaborate plans & grand celebrations are irrelevant.
Looking back at the last 12 months, 2012 has been a great year.  For starters we survived an apocalypse…surely that’s worth celebrating ;)!  At the start of the year, I had set some resolutions.  Some I successfully ticked off, whereas others became less of a priority as the year went on.  While specifically outlining my goals did motivate me to some extent, I am taking a different approach for 2013.  Instead I plan to focus on a single & broader resolution:
Step out of my comfort zone
Although I wouldn’t say I’m partiuclarly in rut, I do have a tendency to gravitate towards routine, comfort & habit.  I’m almost certain that stretching my limits both mentally & physically will bring about new opportunities, positive changes, and overall self-growth.  If anything, these make the initial anxiety and fear behind exploring unfamiliar territory all the more worth it.
Maybe it’s the optimist in me speaking typing, but I have high hopes for 2013.  Wishing you & your family all the best for the year!  Whether or not you’re in for a cray cray night later, I hope it’s a great one!  And if not, you have 365 nights ahead of you to make up for it in 2013 🙂 .
What are your NYE plans?
What are some of your resolutions for 2013?
Happy New Year lady!!
I hope it’s a wonderfully blessed year!
I love, love, love your goal about stepping out of your comfort zone. I relate that to trying new things, because I really would like to be fearless this year!
Cheers to being fearless :)!
I quite literally used the same someecard in my post today 🙂 Love that one haha. Happy new year! And I think it’s great to be optimistic about 2013!
Someecards are always so spot on :D!
Love that you’re so hopeful about the upcoming year, and love your goal of stepping outside your comfort zone even more – that’s probably an approach that I could adopt myself. I don’t usually make any resolutions because I don’t like the pressure and hype, so instead I’ll just keep plugging away at working on any aspect of my life that I think needs improvement 🙂 As for tonight, I’m thinking a movie and some firework watching are on the agenda.
Happy New Year, Khushboo! <3
I love the idea of finding ways to improve your life as opposed to change it! Happy New Years to you too :)!
My night is definitely going to be of the low-key type as well…hope you have a great one Khushboo!
Low-key sounds ideal- hope you enjoyed it :)!
stepping out of my comfort zone is something I really really want to keep doing as well. have a great NYE!
Happy 2013 to you, Alex!
WOOO! Hooray for stepping outside your comfort zone and making 2013 your year to shine! Can’t wait to see all the adventures! 🙂
Happy New Year to you Khushboo!!
Hope your 2013 is off to a great start, Alexandra :D!
Cheers to stepping out of the comfort zone!! No crazy plans for me tonight. I hope to be very low key!
Low key or not, hope you had a great NYE!
Happy new year!! I love your blog – i get so much motivation from it 🙂
Thanks so much Abi…and happy new year to you too!
I love your goal for 2013! I definitely need to step out of my comfort zone too. Happy new year!
Have a great 2013, Tara 🙂
Happy New Year! You have a great list of goals!
My main goal for 2013 is to make it a better year than 2012 😉
There’s no reason why it won’t be…all the best, Jenn 🙂
Stepping out of our comfort zones, YES! 🙂 Let’s do this! Happyyy 2013 again!
Oh it is ON 😉
That’s a great resolution, and one that I can totally relate to. It is very hard for me to step out of that comfort zone, but I think I’m starting to. Here’s to 2013!
May 2013 be uncomfortable (in a pleasant way) for both of us, Natalie :)!
I love your resolution! I need that one too–I gravitate toward the comfortable as well, yet I have so much fun and enjoy it so much when I step out and try/do/see/eat new things! I’m all for concepts rather than specifics as NYE goals–I do better with shorter-term goals, since there’s room to adjust, abandon and rethink them when they’re on a smaller scale.
Adjust, abandon and rethink- I love that, Allie! So much changes over a course of year, so naturally goals will too!
Happy New Year! I think 2013 will be a good one too… lucky 13, right? 🙂
I am kinda glad new years day dIdnt fall on a Friday this year ;)!
My biggest New Year’s resolution is to do one thing a day that makes me happy. Life’s too short not to enjoy every moment 🙂
I couldn’t agree more…it might sound selfish but our own happiness should always come first!
Happy new year K. The best new years are those where you hangout with good friends. I didn’t get thru most of my resolutions either, but this year I better get to greece, I hope. 🙂
I hope you do make it to Greece this year…or at least somewhere equally amazing :)!
Hope you had an awesome 2012 NYE!!! Sounds like a great goal for 2013!
Thanks Jess…happy new year to you!!
Happy New Year, my dear friend! I’m feeling great vibes for the upcoming year as well. I mean, it’s lucky number 13, right? 😉
I hope you had a fantastic time with your friends last night! My evening was pretty low key, which felt just right. I was in my slippers at midnight! xoxo <3
Bringing in the new year in slippers sounds a heck more appealing than uncomfy heels :)! Have a great 2013, Sara!
Happy New Year K-boo! Here’s hoping 2013 is is as wonderful as you 🙂
Ah you’re sweet Sig :)! Hope 2013 is an amazing year for you…which I’m sure it will be especially with the baby on the way 🙂
