Clink-Clink

New Year’s Eve, we meet again!  I feel like it was just a few weeks ago that I was getting on the boat to Alibag to welcome 2012.  Although December 31st tends to be quite hyped up, I am looking forward to a low-key night later.  So long as I am with good friends, elaborate plans & grand celebrations are irrelevant.

Looking back at the last 12 months, 2012 has been a great year.  For starters we survived an apocalypse…surely that’s worth celebrating ;)!  At the start of the year, I had set some resolutions.  Some I successfully ticked off, whereas others became less of a priority as the year went on.  While specifically outlining my goals did motivate me to some extent, I am taking a different approach for 2013.  Instead I plan to focus on a single & broader resolution:

Step out of my comfort zone

Although I wouldn’t say I’m partiuclarly in rut, I do have a tendency to gravitate towards routine, comfort & habit.  I’m almost certain that stretching my limits both mentally & physically will bring about new opportunities, positive changes, and overall self-growth.   If anything, these make the initial anxiety and fear behind exploring unfamiliar territory all the more worth it.

Exactly a year ago!
Exactly a year ago!

Maybe it’s the optimist in me speaking typing, but I have high hopes for 2013.  Wishing you & your family all the best for the year!  Whether or not you’re in for a cray cray night later, I hope it’s a great one!  And if not, you have 365 nights ahead of you to make up for it in 2013 🙂 .

What are your NYE plans?

What are some of your resolutions for 2013?

  1. Happy New Year lady!!
    I hope it’s a wonderfully blessed year!

I love, love, love your goal about stepping out of your comfort zone. I relate that to trying new things, because I really would like to be fearless this year!

  2. Love that you’re so hopeful about the upcoming year, and love your goal of stepping outside your comfort zone even more – that’s probably an approach that I could adopt myself. I don’t usually make any resolutions because I don’t like the pressure and hype, so instead I’ll just keep plugging away at working on any aspect of my life that I think needs improvement 🙂 As for tonight, I’m thinking a movie and some firework watching are on the agenda.

    Happy New Year, Khushboo! <3

  3. WOOO! Hooray for stepping outside your comfort zone and making 2013 your year to shine! Can’t wait to see all the adventures! 🙂
Happy New Year to you Khushboo!!

  4. I love your resolution! I need that one too–I gravitate toward the comfortable as well, yet I have so much fun and enjoy it so much when I step out and try/do/see/eat new things! I’m all for concepts rather than specifics as NYE goals–I do better with shorter-term goals, since there’s room to adjust, abandon and rethink them when they’re on a smaller scale.

    1. Adjust, abandon and rethink- I love that, Allie! So much changes over a course of year, so naturally goals will too!

  5. Happy new year K. The best new years are those where you hangout with good friends. I didn’t get thru most of my resolutions either, but this year I better get to greece, I hope. 🙂

  6. Happy New Year, my dear friend! I’m feeling great vibes for the upcoming year as well. I mean, it’s lucky number 13, right? 😉

I hope you had a fantastic time with your friends last night! My evening was pretty low key, which felt just right. I was in my slippers at midnight! xoxo <3

    1. Ah you’re sweet Sig :)! Hope 2013 is an amazing year for you…which I’m sure it will be especially with the baby on the way 🙂
