Hey hey! I try to put up these Currently survey posts every month but February got away in a blink of an eye…literally! So before the same thing goes down with March, here are some of my current favorites:
Current Book: The Palace of Illusions has been sitting on my dressing table for the past 3 weeks. Hopefully I’ll actually finally start reading it over the weekend.
Current Guilty Pleasure: Oreos dipped in almond milk. I’m normally quite picky about eating overly processed foods, but sometimes you gotta turn a blind eye.
Current Music: Anything & everything John Legend…I’ve been listening to him on repeat this past week.
[youtube=http://youtu.be/ZwbNesQeods&w=600&h=385]
Current TV Show: More than TV shows, I’ve been watching movies lately. The last two I saw were Fifty Shades of Grey & Foxcatcher. After all the terrible reviews I had read about the Fifty Shades movie, I had no expectations at all….which clearly worked in my favorite as I ended up really enjoying the film (as I did the book – no shame 😉 ).
Current Drink: Homemade chai…I need to bring back the iced chai tea lattes!
Current Obsession: My skin has been rather temperamental for the past week, but after obsessively applying multiple layers of aloe vera gel it seems to be back on track…crisis averted!
Current Food: Up until earlier this week, I hadn’t made my Quin-oha recipe in forever! Promise you’ll make it? You won’t be disappointed!
Current Excitement: I guess you could say I’m a tad excited about seeing Jerry Seinfield live next week 🙂
Current Instagram Fave: Deliciously Ella– totally girl crushin’ on her!
Current Bane of My Existence: Wen ppl typ lyk dis–> I feel like a part of me inside dies every time I see people abusing the use of shorthand.
Current Indulgence: Working from my bed. It might not be the most conventional approach but hey, as long as the work is getting done ;)…
Current Blessing: Old friends…because they truly are gold friends. As cheesy as it sounds, one of the biggest blessings is to be able to go through months of no contact with certain friends yet pick up like no time has passed at all.
Current Need: This pretty much sums it up:
Current Mood: Energised after a solid night of sleep.
Current Triumph: Finding a yoga instructor who will come home twice a week! I tried doing a few yoga podcasts but they weren’t doing it for me- I prefer having someone to practice with, especially to push me & make sure my form is correct.
Current Link: This hilarious Buzzfeed read on 24 Stereotypes Women are Sick & Tired of Hearing….nailed it, especially #2, 4, 21 & 22!
What’s your current…
…need?
…food?
…excitement?
…triumph?
You are NOT seeing Jerry Seinfeld…..my mum and I are so jealous, we are the biggest Seinfeld fans! I dn’t tnk vee can b frndz.
Haha if I didn’t like you so much, that last comment could’ve been a deal breaker!!
Wow – you are seeing Jerry Seinfeld – so cool!!! Almost as cool as working from your bed – now that totally takes the cake! Btw – love checking out your instagram shoutouts!
My current food is coffee…my current need is more coffee!!!!
I feel you on the coffee, Shashi! I tried giving it up but that lasted all of 4 days ha!
I need to try that quinoa dish because it looks amazing! I also LOVE Deliciously Ella. Her IG is full of amazing pictures and her recipes are delicious. I have her app on my IPhone and I just bought her book. I’m a fan!
My current need is sleep! I went to bed way too late last night.
My current food is pasta with semi-homemade meat sauce. I use jarred marinara sauce, ground beef and I add wilted spinach for some veggies.
My current triumph is mastering headstands! I can hold an unassisted headstand for minutes now!!!
Ah how’s her book?? I am definitely buying it when I’m in London over the summer. And WELL DONE on the headstand- that’s actually on my fitness bucket list. How long of practicing did it take for you to master it?
Her book is gorgeous! The pictures are beautiful and the recipes look and sound delicious. She starts by writing her story and how she decided to start eating a plant-based diet to cure her illness. Then she divides recipes into categories like grains, nuts, legumes, veggies, etc. Some of my favorite ones are the easy quinoa with sautéed veggies (I think you would love this too!), the Mexican quinoa bowl and the creamy coconut porridge.
About the headstand, I was actually VERY surprised because it was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. It only took me about 6-7 yoga classes to manage it. But I still can’t hold it for more than a few seconds (it’s very tiring!) and I can only do a “basket headstand” (where you interlace your hands to form a sort of basket). I found that the hardest part (for me) was to get over my fear of falling.
Ah you’ve gotten me so excited to own my copy of the book- thanks for the review, Letizia! I’m actually focusing on more of a plant-based diet temporarily so she has been a great source of inspiration. Will definitely try your favourites first- it sounds like we have quite similar taste in foods :)!
Congrats again on the headstand- your experience is so encouraging and hopefully I can master it within the next few weeks…who knows, maybe it will be my “triumph” in the next ‘Currently’ post I put up ;)!
so confession: I don’t like Jerry Seinfeld at all. I have no idea why, but he bugs me! And don’t even get me started on the show…can’t do it. However, I’m sure you’ll have an awesome time!
Current needs: to walk the dog. Although that’s more his need than mine!
Haha I can understand about Jerry Seinfield- I kinda feel the same way about Jim Carrey!
I loooove working from my bed too! So cozy! But then I read articles about how working in bed makes you sleep worse so I start feeling bad about it. I compromise by working on the couch wrapped in a blanket lol.
Haha thankfully I have no problem with sleeping- I seem to knock out when my head hits the pillow…fingers crossed I haven’t just jinxed myself ;)!
I’m so jealous you’re seeing Jerry Seinfeld! I looove working in bed but my internet doesn’t work in my bedroom at my current flat. Thankfully I’m moving soon so I can remedy that situation 😉
Ooh congrats on the new place- where about in London is it?
I’m leaving my flat in four weeks (when I go to Australia) but won’t find somewhere until I get back. So I will be homeless! But likely in Wandsworth again 🙂
Woo good luck on the flat hunt when you are back :)!
Jerry! I saw him when he was here a few years ago and he definitely didn’t disappoint. Seinfeld has got to be one of my top 3 shows of all time, and you’re making me want to go back and watch all the seasons again. Gah!
Oooh you’ve gotten me even more pumped to see him- I’ve only been to one comedy show in the past which was an utter fail so my bar is pretty low right now ;)!
Oeros dipped in Almond Milk, now that is something I need to try! My current excitement is..this weekend I am visiting the gym where I am competing at the end of this month to practice the events. Is that sad? Ha 🙂
Oooh you better try Oreos in almond milk SOON! And ain’t nothing sad about being excited over a gym- all about the little things :)! Hope competition prep is going well!
I’m so jealous you’re going to see Jerry Seinfield!!! He came to ATL the week I was moving. Doh.
Woah he really is quite the globe trotter ;)!
I love a good night’s sleep. It’s almost more delicious than food.
Jerry Seinfeld Is hysterical. We have a couple of his DVD’s and I love them. Have fun.
I would LOVE to see Jerry Seinfeld! I’ve actually never seen live stand-up and really need to get on that!
He’s hilarious :)!
