The most wonderful time of the year

Happy holidays, guys!  Whether or not you actually celebrate Christmas, hope you had a great day yesterday.

It’s safe to say that by Monday, I majorly got into the Christmas spirit.  Although I didn’t get a chance to buy myself an ugly reindeer sweater or set up a tree this year, I did enjoy:

  • Admiring the Christmas lights & decorations
Regent Street
  • Wrapping (and of course receiving) my Secret Santa gift
  • Jamming out to Christmas tunes courtesy of Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, & *N’Sync
  • Getting my yearly dose of both The Santa Clause & Home Alone 2

And of course

  • Falling into a food coma after lunch:

Not to sound like a total cheeseball but as delicious as all of the above was, the highlight of Christmas was spending time with my familia (Shyamla & Sachin – you both were missed)!  Enjoy your Boxing Day and if you’re venturing into the sales, you’re a braver soul than I!

P.S. For those of you who are Downton Abbey fans, the Christmas special was the perfect way to “wrap up” the day (pun very much intended ;))!

How did you spend your Christmas?

  1. Sounds like such a wonderful Christmas day and the food looks absolutely delcious!!! Mummy and you really know how to put out and present an amazing spread. Really really missed being there with all of you yesterday but we will make up for it in 6 weeks (countdown has begun). We ended up having Thai for X-mas dinnner but did indulge in some yum wine, cheesecake and chocolate cake – perfect way to wrap up the evening. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

    1. As much as I love turkey, I might have to do roll with Thai food next Christmas…as for the cheesecake, you know I’m a fan :)!

  2. I just realized I missed the Downton Abbey Christmas special!! Eeep! I sure hope they replay it! I’m a huge fan of that show, and I’m pretty excited for the season premiere in January. 😀

I’m so glad to hear you had a happy holiday! I too enjoyed getting my N’Sync and Mariah fix (x’s 1000?). Those classic 90’s hits are a MUST every Christmas season! Your lunch spread looks wonderful – especially that cheese plate. And do I spy mini mince pies? 😉

I spent my day with family, friends and food. Lots and lots of food. Ooof. It was certainly delicious, but I’m feeling as though I’m now in a bit of a coma myself. Ahh well. It was completely worth it! xoxo <3

    1. The cheese plate was courtesy of my bro and those are mince pies (not so mini though ;))! You’re so right- Christmas food coma is totally worth it :)!

  3. THOSE LIGHTS!!! Wow are they stunning! And umm that food spread? I can totally see how you’d be in a food coma, it looks so good!
Glad you had such a fabulous Christmas my friend! 🙂

    1. I am obsessed with the Christmas lights- they’re definitely my favorite part about London right now :)! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas too!!

  4. omg that’s some food, i would be in a coma too. 😀 i had a major sugar rush yday. from a nearby patisserie. macaroons. custards and what not. 😀

  5. I think it’s safe to say that you had a pretty darned amazing Christmas – those lights on Regent Street are absolutely gorgeous, and that food… Gah! It looks delicious. But I’m definitely with you that it all pales in comparison to being able to spend some quality time with those you love. I spent Christmas with my mom and dad, so it was pretty quiet with just the three of us, but I wouldn’t have it any other way 😀

    1. No matter how much hip hop and R & B I listen to, I’ll always reserve a special place for Backstreet Boys & N’Sync…no shame :)!

  6. It sure is the most wonderful time of the year ;). Home alone and The Santa Claus, great choices. I’m actually going to be one of those brave souls today. My sister really wants us to go together…sigh…she is my weakness.

  7. Merry Christmas K. OMG.. Regent Street looks amazing.. I think it looks way better than NYC. Need to visit London during Christmas one year. it’s just gorg! I spent my xmas with family and good food at my brother’s. Doing my post for Fri, cuz I’m so tired and relaxed right now. Hope you’re doing well. When are you leaving London?

  8. There’s nothing like celebrating Christmas with good food, family and friends!

looks like you had a lot of tasty treats. glad I came across your blog! we have similar interests and looking forward to you next posts!

  9. I’m glad you had such a good Christmas! And I totally agree with you – spending it with family really is the best part. 🙂

I’m bummed because I didn’t get a chance to watch The Santa Clause this year – we can’t find our copy! So I just watched Love Actually twice to make up for it haha.

    1. Haha I actually forgot to watch Love Actually this year but did watch Santa Clause…so consider we covered each other in the movie department ;)!

  10. Regent Street is so beautiful…can’t get enough of it.

I spent my Christmas on Virgin Atlantic…can’t complain though, my flight was fantastic!

    Safe travels home.
