TGIF…even though every day on holiday feels like a Friday! As I have plenty of random stuff/finds to blog about, it’s probably best I resort to bullet points:
- Lindt Coconut: I have proclaimed my love for Lindt Sea Salt several times in the past, but it’s time to make way for one of Lindt’s newest flavor. With “enrobing flakes of coconut in fine dark chocolate,” it is even more orgasmic than it sounds…and yes, clearly Fifty Shades has rubbed off on my lingo ;)!
- 2 for 1 Orange Wednesdays: Is it me or have cinema prices skyrocketed recently?! Paying £15 to merely watch a film is rather preposterous. Fortunately my friend Henna (who requested a shout out ;)) is an Orange customer, which means I can benefit from their “2 for 1 cinema tickets on Wednesdays” offer. Choose your friends according to their phone providers wisely.
- Starbucks Iced Americanos: Despite loving their fraps & chai tea lattes, I have always reserved an opinion about Starbucks- they make shiAt coffee. Over ice, however, it’s a different story. Buying one to drink daily might not be the most cost-effective habit, but it sure is a refreshing one!
- Olympic Fever: Whether you’re a sports buff or not, the Olympic fever here is contagious! There are signs of the games all over: London 2012 banners hanging from the lampposts; Olympic lanes on the roads; statues of the Great Britain mascots around the city; a flag display on Regent Street. My brother got us tickets for the Men’s Beach Volleyball Quarter Finals on Monday, and it was such a great atmosphere to be immersed in.
- Cottage Cheese: Since I got here, I’ve been eating cottage cheese for breakfast every single morning: cottage cheese, berries, vanilla protein powder, and peanut butter. Especially as cottage cheese is not available in Mumbai, I am trying to enjoy it while I can. Aside from being a protein-packed way to start the day, I promise it tastes somewhat like a cheesecake filling.
What are you loving this week?
I bet all the Olympic fever is just amazing over there, how fun! And man alive your cottage cheese breakfast looks delicious– that’s one of my all time favorite combos! Who would’ve ever thought pb in cottage cheese could be so tasty! 😀
Seriously..but then again, pb makes anything tasty right ;)!
I love that you love cottage cheese as much as I do. My favorite thing, I just love it. Also the movie deal is great, Americano’s remind me of my mom. She always orders that.
Cottage cheese is awesome- so versatile!
How have I never even heard of Lindt Coconut?! That sounds amazing and I cannot even iterate how jealous I am that you are in London right now- how I miss it so much! What am I loving this week ? I got these HUGE new red Chloe sunglasses through the company I work for which I am absolutely in love with; I am also loving the perfect Oregon weather, and all the food festivals we have going on here this weekend!
OKay your company sounds awesome- jealous about those sunglasses! Enjoy your weekend, you better be in a food coma by Sunday ;)!
Okay, I am jealous of your movie ticket deal! I almost never go to the movies any more due to the price–if I’m going to spend the money, I’d rather do something active or get a good meal! I’m loving peanut flour this week. Totally obsessed.
All these nut flours sound so good- I’m going to add peanut flour to my “London To Buy List” haha!
Oh my gosh, peanut flour goes beyond nut flour–it is absolutely amazing. I may or may not be online buying more this AM 🙂
Haha do it! Thanks for the heads up- will let you know when I try it 🙂
The statue is kinda cute in a unique way! Haha. I bet it must be amazing to be in London during the Olympics!!!
Haha at first the one-eyed look kinda creeped me out but it’s grown on me!
how exciting it must’ve been to be in London during this time! I’ve been trying different chocolate bars every week – my newest and favorite goal ;). It has been a while since I last had it, but I remember I wasn’t a huge fan of cottage cheese. I think I’ll stick to Greek yogurt for that creamy protein. I’ve been eating tons of eggplants lately. It’s so cheap and versatile 😉 Have a great weekend!
I like the sound of that goal- have you tried any worth recommending? And agreed about eggplants…especially love it grilled!
I just tried the Cabernet Matinee from Intense Dark Collection by Ghiradelli! Yumm!!!
I’m not a big fan of American chocolate but I do love Ghiradelli!
I had no idea they did iced Americanos! I love them hot… will have to check this out.
I love making icing with cottage cheese. I like to add vanilla, cinnamon, and a little stevia to it, then blend it up so it’s whipped. I ice and apple “cupcake” like that the other day.
Iced americanos are SO good- definitely try ’em out! I like the sound of this icing- I never though to blend up cottage cheese…must try!
Definitely the Olympics!!! I’m an iced americano girl too. we always go on saturdays.
Jealous of your self-control to only have one a week!
I need to try those chocolate coconut Lindt bars – I miss the coconut hershey kisses when Easter goes away 🙁
I didn’t realise Hershey had a coconut variety- too bad Easter is still a while away!
Yum! I love the coconut one but yes the Sea Salt is my def favourite as well. I can’t believe you’re already back!! Did you end up seeing Ted? I liked it but thought it kinda felt like an extended episode of Family Guy lol.
Yay Olympics!! 😀
I actually loved Ted- it definitely had me LOL’ing for the entire film…although it did instil a fear of teddy bears haha!
I haven’t had cottage cheese in ages, but need to – it’s delicious! And 15 pounds for a theater ticket? That’s obscene! When I was little, it was $5. It *is* getting rather ridiculous. I hope Brave is still in cinemas, I want to go watch it with my little sister when I go home!
Ah the good ol days of $5 movie tickets 😀
That is just fantastic you were able to be in London during the Olympics! Soo awesome and I am rather jealous haha 🙂 The movie ticket deal is great too and you are right… the prices are SO HIGH now, 2 people to go to the movies is around 30 bucks now, what the heck!
Cottage cheese, one of my favorites! I actually have been consuming a whole lot of it recently as well! With peanut butter? Such a good combo
I’m sure you’ll agree that pb & anything is a good combo ;)!
Wow! Your brother took you to the Olympics. He sounds legendary 🙂
He’s aiiiight ;)!
I can not be trusted around the coconut or sea salt Lindt- they are the bomb-diggity.
Good job a whole bar = a serving , right? (Well that’s my motto! Teehee).
Xxx
I like the way you think ;)!
I love London! And cottage cheese! Have fun!!!
Thanks!
OMg… i LOVEEEEEEEEEE Lindt’s dark chocolate w/ sea salt!!! speaking of which, i need to re-stock. Haha! I’ll have to try that coconut one as well although i’m not really a fan of artificial tasting coconut… did it taste artificial?
Please do try- it’s absolutely fantastic…no icky artificial aftertaste!
That chocolate IS orgasmic. Yum! My favourite! I completely agree about Starbucks – their coffee is terrible, but I love the iced ones 🙂
So word on the street is that Lindt have a newer sea salt flavor out: dark with sea salt AND caramel! I’ll let you know if it lives up! 🙂
oooh.. i need to try that coconut lindt chocolate, looks fantastic. looks like you are having so much fun. hope you try Paul’s.
You’re going to have a blast when you come 🙂
Hey! Where do you find peanut flour in london!!?
I have no idea…Whole Foods would probably be your best bet!
