Currently (January 2016)

by Khushboo on January 18, 2016

Holy guacamole!  After flicking through my blog post archives, it turns out my last Currently post was put up in September– that is no bueno especially because it’s one of my favorite posts to write.  For those of you who aren’t aware, these Currently posts are a way for me to share some of my current favorites that alone aren’t enough to warrant a blog post.  Without further ado:

Current Book: Do cookbooks count?  A friend of mine gifted me Jamie Oliver’s Everyday Super Food book & I am a big fan. Finding recipes online is nice & all, but there’s something about flicking through a real cookbook that no  website can match

Jamie Oliver Every Day Super Food

Current Music:  This came on when I put my iPhone on shuffle mode & instantly put me in the best mood.  It’s amazing how a single song can conjure up so much nostalgia:

Current Excitement: After 5 ½ years of living in Mumbai AND 5 ½ years of wanting to visit the Golden Temple, I am PSYCHED to finally be heading to Amritsar later in just a few days.

Current Drink: DAVIDsTEA Peanut Butter Cup Tea…you heard right!  Lucky me that not one, but TWO, friends gifted me a box of this deliciousness all the way from Canada!

DAVIDsTea Peanut Butter Cup

Current TV Show: This month’s favorite definitely goes to Jane the Virgin.  Word of warning: You will totally get sucked in & drawn to the characters.

Current Guilty Pleasure: This pretty much sums up my current sentimenets towards ‘guilty pleasures’.

 Guilty Pleasures

Current Obsession: I am kinda obsessed with Snapchat.  I feel like it brings out the goofy side in everyone using it- the more ridiculous the better.  If you haven’t already, add me! My username is: kvthadani4

Current Bane of My Existence:  Strapless bras- chalk that up as another joy of being a woman ;)!

Current Food: This is so healthy living blogger of me, but I can’t get enough of salads lately.  Lately I’ve been alternating between homemade balsamic vinaigrette or a lemongrass dressing I picked up during my trip to Thailand.

Thai Tofu Salad

Current Indulgence: Coffee dates during the day- definitely one of the perks of working for yourself :)!

Current Need: After much thinking, I genuinely can’t think of anything that I need, which leads to the next “Current…”

Current Blessing: Being perfectly content with what I have & where I am…and free Whatsapp calls!  The latter has made keeping in touch so much easier!

Current Mood: Optimistic for the year ahead!  I’m telling you guys, 2016 is all about spreading good vibes!

Current Instagram Fave: The account @perfectsayings has been posting hilarious content lately! Case in point:

Perfect Sayings on Instagram

Current Triumph:  Learning how to use iMovie sans any YouTube tutorials…just some good ol’ fiddling around.  I put up my first workout video on Instagram last week and I’m sure that’s the just start of many others to come (not necessarily workout-related).

Current Link:  This year bone broth & quinoa are out whereas farro & chickpea milk are in.  If you haven’t already, check out my predictions on The Huffington Post: 5 Healthy Eating Trends To Look Forward To in 2016.

Your turn now: What’s your current favourite…

  • …triumph
  • …mood
  • …food
  • …excitement
  • …drink?

Haha love that quote about guilty pleasures! I think the same thing everytime I write it!
Peanut butter cup tea sounds amazing! I could drink a cup of that right now for sure!
And I never trust david with the remote… He ALWAYS has it! haha!

Haha I’m glad I’m not the only one who cringes at the term ‘guilty pleasures’!

Parita @ myinnershakti January 19, 2016 at 12:29 am

Current excitement – I’m going to Panama for a work trip in a couple of weeks and Vishnu’s joining me for the last weekend! Excited to explore a new country with him 🙂

Khushboo January 22, 2016 at 11:03 am

Woo hoo that will be awesome- I can’t wait to read about your Panama adventures!

Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets January 19, 2016 at 4:56 am

I feel the same way about guilty pleasures, which is why I swapped it out for “non-guilty” pleasures on my survey. Ha.

Gotta love a little Biggie and congrats on the workout video.

Khushboo January 22, 2016 at 11:04 am

Good idea about replacing it with “Non-guilty pleasures”–> I think I will follow suit!

Lucie@FitSwissChick January 19, 2016 at 4:17 pm

Oh God, I love the guilty pleasure quote. Need to steal it.
I am drained and tired, cause I had a full vacation day of workouts! Twice CrossFit, a run at the beach and 1k at Icebergs Pool. Not complaining, but sleeping VERY soon!

Khushboo January 22, 2016 at 11:04 am

Oh wow that sounds like an intense, yet incredibly satisfying, day of workouts, Lucie- I’m sure you slept like a baby :D!

Peanut butter tea?! I wonder if there’s an AB version… 😆 And I happen to know someone in Canada should you ever run out of tea 😉 I love Snapchat for the same reason, but there are days where I completely forget to post anything. Womp, womp. And kudos on making videos!!! That’s actually something that I’d love to get into this year. But ugh… where to find the time!

Khushboo January 22, 2016 at 11:05 am

Haha tell me about it- so much to learn yet not enough time…GAH!

Tara @ Sweat like a Pig January 20, 2016 at 3:21 am

Peanut butter cup tea?! I need to get my hands on that! One thing I miss since I started travelling is all my recipe books. You’re right – websites just aren’t the same!

Khushboo January 22, 2016 at 11:05 am

Given you’ve been travelling quite a bit lately (understatement of the year), do you miss the days of cooking full on meals?

Tara @ Sweat like a Pig January 26, 2016 at 1:16 am

Oh, absolutely! Any time I’m in a proper kitchen, I cherish the opportunity to cook a decent meal. I’m having home cooked meals prepared for me at the moment, but it’s just not the same as preparing it myself.

Khushboo January 27, 2016 at 11:39 am

Even if you’re just making a stir fry, there is something so therapeutic about being in the kitchen!

Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table January 22, 2016 at 5:07 am

OMG. The guilty pleasures thing is spot on. And the remote control. There is no trust. 😉

Khushboo January 22, 2016 at 11:06 am

I thought so too :D!

Shashi at RunninSrilankan January 22, 2016 at 8:31 pm

I’m a HUUUGE Jamie Oliver fan – and I’m thinking I NEED that book in ma life! BTW, Khushboo – I so love the IG accounts you have introduced me to (today I have one for you – unless you already know about this one) It’s for @cookingwithlemon I get a good chuckle out of their antics!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Khushboo January 27, 2016 at 11:35 am
