Currently (April 2015)

Hey guys!  I’m off to China tomorrow and it’s the start of various travels over the next few months.  If blogging starts to become irregular/minimal, you know why :).  Even though the year is zooming by, I am actually really excited for what April has in store.  Before getting ahead of myself, I thought I’d start the month with one of my favourite kinds of posts a.k.a. a Currently Survey:

Current Book: Although I haven’t done much reading recently, I forgot to mention a book I read back in February: Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty.  If you’re looking for a fun & quick beach/travel read over the summer, this is your go-to!

Current Guilty Pleasure: I was down last week with a stomach bug and I drank a Sprite to help settle the nausea.  It was my first fizzy drink in like 3 years and I expected to hate it.  Maybe my taste buds were off but it tasted SO refreshingly delish!

Current Music:  I put my iTunes on shuffle mode the other day & this gem came on:

Current TV Show: After finishing How To Get Away with Murder season 1 (which was insane), I started watching a more light-hearted TV show: Dads!

Current Drink: I’m really into Bloody Mary’s lately- perfect fix on a Sunday afternoon!

Current Food: I think I ate a bean burger for lunch every day last week!  Once I take some decent photos, I will definitely share the recipe- be excited!

Current Excitement: So much to be excited about in April.  Along with my upcoming trip to China to see my sis & bro-in-law and most importantly to meet my cutie-pie nephew, I’m heading to Dubai at the end of the month for one of my bestie’s wedding!

Current Obsession: My nephew- a good percentage of my day is spent looking at photos & videos of him…no shame!

Chattlanis

Current Bane of My Existence: As I much I try and avoid complaining, the road works across Bombay are starting to get on my nerves.  That traffic build-up means I’m spending 45 minutes in my car for a journey that should normally take 20 minutes.

Current Indulgence: Spa days involving a manicure, pedicure & blow dry- the usual girl stuff ;)!

Current Instagram Fave: If you want a good laugh, follow @Sarcasm_Only.  Case in point:

Current Blessing:  I have quite a few fun travels coming up over the next few months and I truly feel so blessed that I am able to travel various times during the year.

Current Need: A client/friend of mine sent me a link to these Booja Booja dairy-free, gluten-free, soya-free & organic luxury ice cream alternative that’s available in London.  I definitely need some of this in my life, especially the Keep Smiling Vanilla M’Gorilla flavor that merely contains: Water, agave syrup, cashew nuts & vanilla extract.

Current Mood:  Overwhelmed between packing, getting ready to leave & tying up some work-related matters.

Current Triumph: Getting one step closer to mastering a headstand.  I can now comfortably do one against the wall, which gives me hope that being able to do the real deal isn’t too far off.

Current Link: I’m sure my fellow Full House fans will be just as excited over the news that a reunion episode is in the works.  More deets here!  And also be sure to check out my latest post on Huffington Post: 6 Ways to Upgrade Your Morning Routine

  1. Congrats to your sister again!!!!!! you have a jam packed schedule ahead of you and I hope one pit stop is to the US of A.

Don’t get me started on the ‘previously on….’ with all the shows. Seriously, WE KNOW.

  2. I’m just finishing off The Husband’s Secret and I’m really enjoying it. I picked up What Alice Forgot to read next, and then I think I’ll move on to Big Little Lies… It’s nice to have a good relaxing read on hand. And I’m so excited for all your travels! I think I told you before that I’ve never been but I’d love to go some day. Hope you have a blast! And check in with us from time to time 😛

    1. That’s good to know about The Husband’s Secret- I might just download it right now on my Kindle before leaving for the airport! And for sure I will be posting every so often- can’t stay away for too long ;)!

  3. You are such a wonderful aunt! So happy for your upcoming trip – and no shame indeed at oogling pictures of your brand new adorable nephew!
That Booja Booja ice cream sounds mouthwatering – I haven’t seen it at local stores here – maybe I gotta try Whole Foods?!
My current fav food is chicken – after going off it for a month! 🙂
    Safe travels Khushboo!

    1. Ah how did meat taste after your month off it during lent?? Hope you are making up for lost time, Shashi ;)!

  4. Loved that book as well! It was a really fun read. And I saw something on IG about a Full House reunion show…ummm!!!! So excited. 🙂

Have so much fun with your family, esp your nephew! He’s so cute!!!

  5. Vanilla Gorilla ice cream!!! I don’t even care if it’s dairy free. I need this in my life for the name alone.

Love the song and the sarcastic IG pic. I laughed out loud at that one. Guilty as charged.

Have a great time traveling and soak up that nephew time, maybe with a side of Bloody Mary’s although not while actually holding the baby. 🙂

    1. Haha the ice cream name definitely made me think of you!! And apparently Bloody Mary’s are more nourishing than breast milk- I could be wrong ;)!

  6. China! How amazing. Have the best time.

And I had mixed feelings about Big Little Lies…it was a good book but I definitely felt it was a bit overrated. Hope you enjoy!

  7. That’s so awesome you have some fun trips ahead! I LOVE to travel and haven’t done much of it lately. I’m reading Amy Poehler’s book right now, which is very good so far, but I’ve heard great things about the booking you’re reading as well! Looking forward to hearing a bit more about your upcoming adventures! Have a good one! 🙂

  8. Congratulations for getting close to mastering the headstand!! I remember you telling me it was on your fitness bucket list. I am sure you will be able to do it without the wall very soon.

And YAY for travelling! Packing sucks and so does organizing the trip but once everything is done it’s so worth it!! I spent the past 4 days skiing in Zermatt and I had such a blast. It reminded me how much I love to travel. This brings me to my current excitement: I am spending the weekend of the 17th in London!! I am so stocked to go back to London. I did my LLM at King’s College in 2013 so it kind of feels like a second home to me. I can’t wait to try some next restaurants.

My current need is a HAIRCUT. My hair has gotten really long lately and it doesn’t look that good.

My current food is cheese. While in Zermatt I had so much cheese! They put it on everything, from salads to pasta dishes and polenta, or even just eaten with bread as a filling breakfast before a day on the slopes.

My current triumph is getting really really good at skiing. My boyfriend is an amazing skier but before dating him I was not that good at it. I mean I have pretty good technique but I was out of practice. Now I can finally keep up with his speed 🙂

    1. Your comments & support always make me smile, Letizia :)! Your skiing trip sounds so lovely! Will you be in London in April or May 17th? If it’s the latter, we should meet up! I am a King’s Graduate too (2009)! That’s so awesome that you have become a better skiier- I’ve still never been…perhaps another thing to add to my fitness bucket list once I tick off ‘mastering a headstand’?

      1. Unfortunately I will be in London on the 17th of April, not May 🙁
It would have been so fun to meet!! Really cool that you went to King’s as well!! I loved my time there. It’s a great school and the location is just perfect!!

I highly recommend that you go skiing at least once in your life because it’s a lot of fun! And if you want to try skiing you should come to Switzerland! We can go skiing together and then refuel with some amazing chocolate 🙂

        1. Even better would be turning that delicious chocolate into warming hot chocolate after a day on the slopes ;)!

  9. I’m off tomorrow too! So exciting!

Booja Booja is amazing. I thought it would taste terrible compared to ice cream, but you really can’t tell the difference. It’s an expensive addiction though! Safe travels 🙂

    1. Thanks Nisha! I’m not visiting HK this time as I want to maximise my time with the baby :)! Love adding basil & tomatoes to my omelet too..a lil mozzarella doesn’t hurt either ;)!
