#TheLittleThings

Thanks for all your comments & messages to get better!  Fortunately I am more-or-less back to normal.  As much as I have various drugs medicines to thank, there are so many other instances during the weekend  which instantly boosted my mood, added some pep to my step & made me feel miles better.  Taking joy in the little things can sometimes be all it takes to make a difference:
  • The moment hot tea touches your sore throat

  • Washing your hair in a hot shower
  • Full House reruns on TV

  • An unexpected email
But even better than that
  • A phone call instead of a text/BBM/Whatsapp message
  • The first bite of dessert

  • Getting into clean sheets
  • The whiff of coffee

  • Cutting & pasting for real i.e. in a way that doesn’t involve CTRL + C/V
Happy Birthday, KK!!!
  • Working up a sweat: Intense or not, those endorphins are powerful!
  • Taking time in your appearance: Blow dries & a little bit of make up can work wonders

  • Waking up and feeling like you’ve slept enough
And as much as I love my salad,
  • There’s  something so comforting about a home-cooked, hot meal
And on that note, I’ll leave you with some profound words from Oprah:
What little thing(s) boosted your mood this weekend?

  1. Great post, K! Glad you are feeling better. This weekend I met up with an old friend, and it was so fun. We realized that we’ve grown up a lot and share a lot of the same beliefs now. It was a great mood lifter! 🙂

    1. Catching up with an old friend is such a mood lifter, even better when you realise that time apart hasn’t affected your friendship!

  2. Thank you for making me smile on a Monday morning 🙂 Sooo many feel-good things in this post. You know The Book of Awesome? The book that just lists a bunch of simple things that make us feel great? This kind of round-up totally reminds me of that. I have to agree with you big time about the first bite of dessert and coffee thing…. and basically everything else, but I’m craving a cup of Joe which is probably why those two stood out 😉 Anywho, glad to hear that you’re feeling better! And hope your week (and month) is off to a great start!

    1. Oooh I have actually never heard of The Book of Awesome…i definitely need to check it out- sounds like the perfect book to always have around!

  3. OMG I LOVE ALL OF THESE!!! Especially the sore throat one and Full House reruns– man I loved that show 🙂
That Oprah quote is fabulous too– definitely writing that down and pasting it on my wall!

  4. Lovely post!!! I love hot tea, clean sheets, warm shower and a little bit of makeup!!! 🙂 that quote is so true, it is way too easy to count your troubles.

  5. So glad you are feeling better! I agree about the tea, so soothing and just ahhhh. Unexpected emails are great too, especially those positive ones of course haha
The Oprah Quote is wonderful as well, saving that under favorite listings 🙂

  6. I was just thinking about this list the other day! Could not agree more with a phone call instead of a bbm/whatsapp/facebook message! Hahah I miss the good old days when we used to hear our friends voices 😛 Love the rest of your list – they are all items that give you a warm fuzzy feeling, my favourite! 😉

  7. It’s the little things, isn’t it!? 🙂 I had lots of those last week as I was on vacation. Funny you mention it because I was also happy while we were in the hotel room, i turned on the TV, flipping channels and FULL HOUSE reruns were on!!!! haha! Glad to hear you are feeling better! 🙂

  8. I love full house reruns! Makes my heart warm and fuzzy. Those good ole’ innocent humor 😉 home cooked meals def lift up my mood also!

  9. great that you are doing better 🙂
and yeah it’s often, make it mostly, the little things that make everyday less mundane. yupe a good workout and a little time to spruce up are my answers to most troubles.

  10. So true, there are so many little happy moments, there is a need to stop and appreciate and enjoy them 😀 It’s sort of my motto to “enjoy every moment”.
Not just for sore throat, but I love the feeling of hot tea/coffee going down my throat into my stomach first thing in the morning before breakfast!
