Hello sugar coma!

As I declared this time last year, there are some occasions where calories and nutrition do not count, i.e. birthdays. As I’m another year old and wiser, I’m going to slightly change that view: calories mean nothing on your birthWEEK! The week comes once a year so let’s milk it while we can eh ;)!

Last week Shradha of Neeru Cakes & Desserts got in touch with me to see whether I would mind sampling some of her baked goods. Pshh liiiike I’m gonna say no 🙄.  Last night, my goodies were ever so sweetly delivered and boy was I in for a treat (or 10)! 

The picture doesn’t do justice but there were cupcakes, brownies, mousse, chocolate lollipop, and a fondant. Given my weeklong craving for heavily frosted cupcakes, 3 guesses what I first dug into ;)!  There were so many different flavors including

• Peanut butter with jelly babies on top
• Grasshopper
• Oreo
• Malteaser
• Chocolate with vanilla icing
• Red velvet
• Chocolate with chocolate icing and sprinkles
• Candy floss

If eating cupcakes before bedtimes is wrong, I don’t want to be right ;).  My mom and I had a sliver of each and loved them all! We both agreed that the peanut butter frosting really was ‘the icing on the cake’ :lol:!  It was also my first time trying a Grasshopper cupcake.  Being a peppermint patty and mint choc chip ice cream fan, I’m not surprised that me likey!  I brought whatever was remaining to work this morning and something tells me I’ve made some new best friends :).

After years of ‘experience’, I reckon that I’m quite the dessert connoisseur and I was impressed!  I’m all about getting a bang for my calories so the fact that I went back for seconds says a lot!  Thanks Shradha! It was the perfect way to end my hump-day and get ready for my real birthday on Saturday 😀 !
