Technology, love it or hate it? I would like to choose one over the other but I remain diplomatic (a fine quality some may say ;)). While I could list the endless ways technology has enhanced my life, I’ll refer to the use of Blackberry. Ten years ago, the ka-ching sound that used to go off when I signed on to dial- up internet was enough to get me giddy. And then when the signature AOL ‘you’ve got mail’ went off, I wasn’t able to click ‘Open’ fast enough. Now, however, the mere thought of my Blackberry services being unavailable can drive me steer crazy. Not being able to receive and send mail on-the-go? Not being able to use Blackberry messenger while I’m stuck in traffic? Now that’s just silly talk.
On the other hand, I do have my ‘I hate you technology’ days. Think about those coffees/lunches/times you’ve been catching up with friends and your phone just doesn’t shut up. Or while you’re at the grocery store and the only way to pay is at the self-service. In theory they are great, but when you have to call upon the store-keeper every 2 minutes because ‘you haven’t put your items in the bagging area’, it kinda kills the efficiency buzz.
Well today I’m having ‘this is why I love you technology’ days. If you read my blog regularly, you’ll know that I’m somewhat of an Apple fan..ok ok mega fan and I think Steve Jobs is a legend in the making. APPs are in another league when it comes to facilitating life. The other day my friend and I wanted to play a board game but couldn’t, for the life of us, find the dice. Next best option: download an APP for it for it. What can I say, that’s just how we roll ;).
Anyway if you do have access to downloading APPs, check out the Health & Fitness category. There are SO many available and loads are free (always a bonus in my books). I just downloaded the ‘101 Yoga Lite’ app which offers both pictures and descriptions of various poses. Especially if you are like me and tend to ‘forget’ to stretch post-workout, this APPs offers so many different moves to flow with. Best part is: you’re at home which means pyjamas qualify as appropriate workout gear 😆 .
Sidebar: Hope I wasn’t the only one who broke it down with a burpee yesterday, and two today!
