If you’re anything like me, you have a love-hate relationship with procrastination. You can either be really motivated to complete pending tasks or put it off till the very last minute. If I had a penny for every time I came up with an excuse to start a diet ‘tomorrow’, I’d be loaded with pounds- both in my wallet and on my body :). While many of us would love to wake up skinny, the actual process of getting the weight off is what prevents us from actually reaching our ideal shape.
There’s always some reason or excuse that seems good enough to prolong commencing a healthy eating plan, whether it be an upcoming birthday, holiday, or meal out. What we fail to remember in times like these is that there will ALWAYS be something going on that may hamper our weight loss efforts. Rather than allow that to postpone starting a plan, we can look at ways to incorporate it into the plan. Yes, it might be your best friend’s birthday coming up but that one particular day does not have to translate into a whole week. For example, if you’re going to TGI Fridays for dinner, still order that burger but only eat half of the bun.
Instead of concocting various excuses, either accept and be happy with your current shape or to put it lightly, get off your ass and do something about it! Whether you have 5 or 50 lbs to lose, listen to the Nike ad and just do it! There will never be an ideal time. And for every excuse you have to NOT start a healthy eating plan, I can give you 2 reasons why you should (a healthy heart, higher self-esteem, increased energy levels to name a few)…
Dear KT
Give me a spot reduction diet (hips) or tips please! You know I excercise, but it would be great to change my shape to straight lines.
Love, A-didi
