a post or a series of posts on yoga perhaps? i am into the whole gymming thing of course [though mostly cardio :(], can i bring in surya namaskars with the regular gym schedule to tone up and lose weight?
I’m not familiar enough with yoga to write a post on it, but I do have a friend who is- will definitely ask her if she would contribute! I love using yoga poses (especially Surya Namaskars) for stretching, especially after runs!
Hey Khushboo, I am so inspired by you! great achievement! I need to lose 8 kilos and am active in the gym. I work out in the mornings like you and then head to work. can you suggest a plan with the cross trainer.
Hi Reena! Thanks so much for your kind words :)! If you’re working out on the cross trainer, I would suggest alternating the speeds/resistance during your time on the machine! The change in intensity will benefit you both mentally and physically! I’d also suggest supplementing your cross training workouts with some strength training sessions. Best of luck on your weight loss journey and congrats on taking the first step!
Hey Khushboo,
Subscribed to your blog yesterday…very interesting and inspiring to see your regime and way of healthy eating. I have a question in mind which I thought should put to you. Since last 6 months I had taken up jogging..basic aim was to lose weight….before it all satrted i was 88kgs….after regular running in the mornings and training to run marathons…i ended up losing about 7 kgs in past 6 months……I ran 3 half marathons in due course…now i am 81Kg and have a target of 74 kg in next 6 months time. I enjoy my running but at times becasue of extreme cold weather in Pune doesnt allow me to go out at 6am n train…do you think I should tak eup gymming and weight training to achieve my goal or should I stick to jogs in the cold mornings?
Hi Sameer- the most important part is getting in a workout, regardless of where. If you think the cold will reduce your motivation to run, it might be worth paying for a gym membership. Good luck losing the 7 kgs over the next 6 months- it’s a very realistic goal! 🙂
I came across your site while searching on Quinoa today. I really liked your site – simple recipies and tips 🙂
I live in Mumbai and wanted to ask where you buy Quinoa from? Someone had mentioned crawford market to me but that place is such a huge maze that I wouldnt know where to start from. Is there a particular shop you buy it from?
also, costs? 🙂
also, where do you get avocado etc? food hall?
since ive mentioned foodhall, i saw a ready to eat packet of Quinoa there. That is ofcourse a big No-No. Do you know if they stock raw quinoa there?
Hi Divya, welcome to my blog & glad you are enjoying it :)! Quinoa seems to be easily available in Mumbai over the past few months. Along with Crawford Market, I’ve seen it at the Palladium Food Hall & Nature’s Basket! We get our avocado from the market (Crawford Market tend to have good ones). Hope that helps.
great- thank you. is there a particular shop in crawford that you go too? (i am not too familiar with that area since ive visited it only once to pick up a friend!)
Hello,
You mentioned kickstarting your weight loss journey with Weight Watchers. Though, I’m a little confused as to how you did it while living in India? Could you please clear that up for me?
It is great to see your achievement. I am quite happy to have stumbled upon your blog! 🙂 I am just having some problem accessing the recipes and the work-out pages. As in any further links fromt hese two pages do not seem to be working. Have you decided to take content off?
Thanks for your comment MJ & welcome to my blog :)! Try clicking on the workout & recipe pages on the top menu bar. I just tried and it seems to be working fine. Please let me know if you still have an issue 🙂

Unfortunately I don’t…there are usually a bunch of market stalls and I just ask whether any of them have any ripe avocados!
Sorry Divya- I’m not sure what the store’s specific name is in Crawford Market. Otherwise it’s worth checking Nature’s Basket :)!
hahaha!
i dont think i was clear… i was asking for a shop where you buy quinoa! 😀

Hey Bhavini! I lived in England for 8 years, which fortunately coincided with the period I was losing weight.
