Currently (April 2017)

Holy guacamole!  After flicking through my blog post archives, it turns out my last Currently post was put up in January 2016 (!) – that is no bueno especially because it’s one of my favorite posts to write.  For those of you who aren’t aware, these Currently posts are a way for me to share some of my current favorites that alone aren’t enough to warrant a blog post.  Without further ado:

Current Book: I’m currently in the middle of Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso…buuuut I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t picked it up since my flight back from China in January.  I go through phases with reading and clearly right now is a slump period.

Current Music: Still so obsessed with Charlie Puth & Selena Gomez’s We Don’t Talk Anymore:

Current Excitement: So much to look forward to over the next few months but I’m particularly excited about the 112, Ginuwine & Dru Hill 20th Anniversary Tour concert in October that I just booked for.  My 13-year-old self is going giddy at the thought.

Current Drink: As I’m trying to reduce my coffee intake (‘trying’ being the operative word), herbal teas have been my go-to.  I’ve been enjoying Cuppanut tea, which is essentially teabags made from dessicated coconut.

Current TV Show: Growing up, my bookshelves were filled to the brim with Archie Comics. For the sake of nostalgia, I naturally had to get on board with RiverdaleMy thoughts? The characters are so cringe-y but entertaining nonetheless. And just for the record, Archie is so much hotter than I imagined.

Current Guilty Pleasure: Regular massages weekly…and sometimes bi-weekly! For whatever Mumbai lacks, it sure makes up in the luxury department.  If a massage costs £5 an hour, you know I’m all about that.

Current Obsession: I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed per say but lately I’ve really been enjoying listening to podcasts when I go for my morning walks.  A couple of uplifting ones that really help set the tone of my day include Soul Chat with Lauren & Kristi & Food Psych

Current Food: Salads the size of my head.  Bombay has turned into a sauna and all I want to eat are cooling foods.

Strawberry Bean Salad

Current Bane of My Existence:  iPhones.  The other day it randomly deleted all my photos. After a minor nervous breakdown, I managed to restore them.  If that didn’t give me enough palpitations, a few days later my entire music collection magically got wiped of my phone.  Fortunately I had all my music saved on my laptop but this whole ordeal lost me a good 4 hours of my day.  Let’s just say that I have become the back-up queen.

Current Need: More time in the day!

Current Blessing: So many but right now, I feel blessed to have such a solid group of friends…some of who I have known for over 20 years.  Life changes, we move countries but the bond only gets stronger.  Anyone want some wine with that cheese ;)?

Current Indulgence: This basically sums up my life ha:

Treat yoself meme

Current Mood: Gratitude…and a lot of it!

Current Instagram Fave: @thegoodquote –> given this page has over a 11 million followers, clearly I’m not the only one who thinks it’s worth a follow 😉

Current Triumph:  Getting my taxes filed- does anyone else feel like a massive weight has been lifted when tax season finishes?

Current Link:  6 Signs You’re a Yo-Yo Dieter And How To Finally Fix It on Elite Daily–> check it out to read a few of my inputs.

Your turn now: What’s your current…

  • …triumph
  • …mood
  • …food
  • …excitement
  • …drink?

  1. Love your ‘currently’ posts! Always find a good nuggets in them (like the IG account you recommend here). My current excitement is that I’m going home to Atlanta tomorrow for a week”ish” of family fun. Can’t wait to see my parents and grandparents!

  2. Wait … £5 massages?! Life’s clearly not fair here.
Friends and family are the hugest blessing ever to be had. I’m glad you’ve got such amazing ones in your life.
Everybody’s been talking about Food Psych so I figure I should really check it out, too.
My current triumph is getting the biggest chunk of spring cleaning done. That’s the massive weight that got lifted off my shoulders.
Also, smartphones of any kind should come with a warning because gee can they be fussy.
