My last post of 2015

I can’t believe this is officially my last post 2015!  Hope you all had a great Christmas and/or weekend!  After all the cookie talk last week, I made sure to get my fix at Sweetish House Mafia.  If you’re in Mumbai, you need to pay a visit.  We ordered 3 varieties to share:

  • Nutella with sea salt
  • Snickerdoodle
  • Peanut butter

Being the sucker for all things cinnamon, the Snickerdoodle was undoubtedly my favorite- simply heavenly.  Sorry for the embarrassingly bad photo, but all I got is a screenshot of my Snapchat before it disappeared into the dark hole of expired snaps:

Speaking of Snapchat, who else has embraced it?  Despite some friends trying to convince me to join Snapchat for months, I constantly refused- lord knows I don’t need another social media outlet to suck the productivity out of my days ;).  Well lo & behold I finally gave in and joined last week.  My friends were right- I love it.  I was right- I am wasting far too much time on it.  I’m still fiddling around and trying to understand the app, but add me if you’re on it.  My username is: kvthadani4

In honor of the festive season, I certainly (and unintentionally) got my red, white & green on with my food over the weekend including:

My current favourite combination i.e. rye toast topped with marinara sauce & fresh basil:

I know it sounds so basic, but that combination gets me every time- I could literally eat marinara sauce by the spoon!  You know what’s not basic?  The Basilic Salad at Suzette Creperie.  I’ve mentioned it on the blog several times in the past but it just.never.gets.old.  Green lettuce, red sun-dried tomatoes & white feta, this salad screams Christmas all year round!

Suzette really means business when it comes to salads- just look at the size of that bowl! And clearly they also mean balance since they sent over a complimentary Strawberry Tiramsu for dessert:

As much as I love chocolate bars, I actually prefer fruit-based desserts.  Maybe it’s the Londoner in me, but the strawberries & cream combination sure hit the spot.

Before I wrap up my last post of 2015, I wanted to quickly ask your advice.  Especially as this blog is essentially my little corner of the internet, I try to keep it as real as possible.  I’ll be honest and admit that my blogging mojo of late has been slightly off.  I’m hoping it’s mostly to do with the busyness from travelling & the festive season.  Rather than put up posts for the heck of it, I want my blog to add some value to whoever is reading it.  If there’s anything in specific you want me to post more about, PLEASE let me know as I am always open to suggestions.  Recipes, healthy eating tips, meal/snack ideas, workouts & workout recaps, restaurant reviews, life in general–> you call the shots.  With 2015 coming to a close, I hope you end the year with the bang.   Cheers to a spectacular 2016 & I’ll ‘speak’ to you all next year!

How did you celebrate Christmas?

What’s the best  you ate over the weekend?

  1. Ha, funny story about Snapchat! My best friend spent almost an entire year trying to convince me to download it, and then I finally gave in… only to discover I couldn’t get it on my Blackberry! It was so funny at the time but now I feel like I’m missing out. Happy new year!

  2. Oh my God, Snapchat. I tried it once and got so scared, deleted it immediately again before even adding a pic. I think I am too old for that.

I love all your posts, Khushboo. Write whatever you want – I am back in the world and will read it!

    Happy New Year to you!

  3. I tried using Snapchat once, but I gave up on it and deleted it lol. I just can’t keep up with so many social media channels!

That salad looks seriously awesome. You had me at feta and sun dried tomatoes!!
