Chocolate Dipped Fruit

Heyyyy guys! Hope your week is going well! Unfortunately I tripped over while running on Tuesday and banged up both my knees, so my last few days have involved a handful of painkillers, ointments, a tetanus shot & plenty of prayers that I’ll be fine to run the Pinkathon 10K for Breast Cancer on Sunday.  The doctor said the inflammation will reduce by Friday, so I should be good to go.  Aside from that, my week’s been great. I mentioned on Monday that I have a list of topics & delish recipes I want to blog about over the next few weeks so first up: Chocolate Dipped Fruit

Choc covered fruit

While my preggo sister visited a few weeks ago, I threw her a baby shower which involved a few baby games (that we never ended up playing), good friends and plenty of food..obviously! These were one of my contributions and while I’m hardly one to toot my own horn, these Chocolate Dipped Fruit looked super pretty alongside the spread of food.

Seeded Orange Slices

To make the most of strawberry season over here in Mumbai (wahoo!), I used a combination of strawberries & orange slices.  I know strawberries aren’t really seasonal in North America/Europe right now so be assured that, orange slices taste (and look) equally fab.  For the sake of variety, I alternated between pistachios, sunflower seeds and coconut…gotta keep those with nut allergies in mind ;)!

Pistachio Covered Strawbs

Do these colors scream Christmas or what?  With the 25th right around the corner, these would be a fun festive treat to whip up as a healthy dessert or even to gift friends/family members…especially as chocolatiers like Godiva charge absurd amounts like £1.50 per strawberry.  I won’t tell anyone how easy these Chocolate Dipped Fruit are to whip up, if you won’t ;)!

As for that recipe:

What’s your favourite fruit to pair with chocolate?

What dessert do you plan to make this Christmas?

  1. Oh Khushboo – so sorry to hear about your banged up knees – hoping healing happens ultra fast, for you!
Those chocolate and pistachio strawberries are such a great idea for a Christmas dessert platter – so far, I have a request for apple pie from my sis and chocolate cake from my daughter – these strawberries would go great with the latter – and I would have to throw in some bananas covered in chocolate too – they are my fav chocolate dipped fruit.
Hoping you are feeling better soon! xx

  2. I’m so sorry but I just laughed out loud at the baby games which never happened- My sister came back from a baby shower and said the same thing after SHE organised all the games! Those look so good ALMOST too pretty to eat.

  3. Ahhh I wish strawberries were in season out here! Honestly, I don’t like citrus fruits all that much which is the only thing in season is the winter here. Booooo. Although adding some chocolate would make them a lot more enjoyable to me, i imagine!

  4. Khush they were so yummy going to try the recipe this weekend!
Sorry to hear about your knee… See how you feel tomorrow n don’t push yourself if you’re still in pain!

  5. Aww girl! So sorry to hear about your little accident — hope you’re back to feeling 100% soon <3 And I'm seriously loving the fact that you added nuts and seeds to the fruit — the sunflower/orange combo is super intriguing! And you know me and my love for bananas. Those paired with chocolate is just heavenly.

    1. Thanks, Meg! While my wounds are still healing, I’m pleased to say that I knocked that 10 km out the park…I’m still on a high :)!
