Currently (July 2014)

And just like that, another month bites the dust!  While July was hardly my favorite month of the year, it still had a few highlights.  To recap, here are some of my current favorites as we roll in August:

Current Book:  I go through phases with reading & as of July it’s back in my life!  I just finished Homefront by Kristin Hannah, which I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick read.  Without giving too much away, it tells the story of an Army helicopter pilot who gets deployed to Iraq, and how it affects her daughters & husband while she’s away.

Current Guilty Pleasure: Catching up on celebrity gossip…and don’t act like you’re not slightly interested too ;).  Word on the street is that Kim & Kanye are calling it quits with their marriage.

Current Music: After seeing Begin Again over the weekend, I have been listening to Adam Levine on repeat…especially this track:

Current Drink: Fresh lime sodas which are basically a combination offresh lime juice & soda.  You can order them either salted or sweetened with sugar syrup- I prefer them plain.

Current Nail Color: Au naturel on my nails & Essie Watermelon on my toes!

Current TV Show: I just finished Season 4 of Masterchef America.  That season had so.much.drama–> love it!

Current Obsession: I’ve started kickboxing with a personal trainer and I’m o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d. Aside from being an efficient, total body workout, I feel so strong & alive after every session.

Current Need: Ice cream sandwiches take me right back to my childhood, and I’ve been craving one like no other lately.  I definitely need to take matters in my own hands & this recipe seems like the perfect starting point!

Current Triumph: Big girl push-ups i.e. with my knees off the floor.  It’s been a big goal of mine for a long time, and I can finally do 15 straight.

Current Bane of My Existence: Monsoon mosquitoes- I waste half my day trying to swat them.

Current Food: Remember the Peanut butter Cookie Dough Balls I blogged about a few months ago?  I can’t seem to get enough!  I’ve been flattening them out, so lately they’re more like no-bake peanut cookies.  Balls, cookies- whatever we call β€˜em, they taste ridiculously delicious & you need to go make them too!

Current Indulgence: Switching off my alarm.  Granted my eyes tend to naturally open by 7.30/8 am, but it’s still a treat to not wake up with some painfully loud noise blaring in your ear.

Current Blessing: Every day is a blessing πŸ™‚

Current Mood: Excited as I just bought my ticket to the TedxGateway event in Mumbai…roll on November!

  1. Kickboxing?! That sounds awesome!

I’ll let you in on a not so secret secret- the triple almond breakfast cookies started out as balls too. lol. Riveting stuff. Please do more celeb gossip recaps..I’m behind in all that jazz.

  2. My current mood is super psyched for you – YAY for graduating to big girl push ups! And heck yeah – kickboxing R.O.C.K.S.!!!

Your PB Balls sound addicting! My current food (till I try those balls) are some quinoa pb&j and chocolate chip bars I made!

This summer I haven’t done any reading – and I miss it so – I have been doing a lot of work in my yard and catching up on music – so far one I cannot help moving to is this one by Meghan Trainor – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PCkvCPvDXk

    1. Ah thanks so much, Shashi! And I can’t wait to try your bars- given my love for PB anything, I am sure I’ll love it :)!

  3. Congrats on the Push Ups Khushboo, strong girl!! And I bet that boxing workout is awesome. Love when you feel powered out after a sweat session!

Current mood is excited, cause after a July with SO MUCH RAIN we finally have the sun out today, I am heading to Crossfit and then I have a 3 day weekend. YAY!

    1. Ah thanks so much , Lucie! Yay for sun…and a 3 day weekend! Hopefully the rain stays away both in Switzerland & Mumbai this weekend πŸ™‚

  4. July went by quick for me too – my highlight was visiting different restaurants as i hardly cooked in between moving and other things..read the book “fault in our stars’…and spend july watching ‘house of cards’ and mood – pretty determined to run a half marathon in november πŸ™‚

    1. You go, girl! What mhalf marathon are you planning to run? Loved The Fault in Our Stars movie- wish I read the book first though!

  5. Seriously Kimye may be calling it quits already?! thank you for that, im obviously not as up on my celeb gossip as i claim to be πŸ™‚ Also lime soda sounds really good. current music- a mix of lana del rey and 70s folk.

  6. My fav song which I have on repeat is Bailando by Julio E. Can’t make up my mind if I like the English or the Spanish version. Loving the Dior polish Darling.
Amazing on your big girl push ups!!

  7. Whyyyyy did you have to show me those amazing ice cream sandwiches at 10 PM?! Now I want one! And can you believe that I actually have no idea what’s going on in the celebrity world? I used to be really into it, but now I just can’t find the time to pay attention anymore! Can’t say that I’m surprised about Kim and Kanye, though. Knowing them and their love for attention, the whole thing was probably just a big set up anyways.

  8. I’d love to try kickboxing! I saw a kickboxing workout video the other day and almost bought it… now I wish I had! Maybe I can find some videos online. πŸ™‚

Ice cream is already a current favorite (all day everyday) so after seeing those ice cream sandwiches? There’s no hope for me now! πŸ˜‰

  9. Kickboxing….now that sounds like a blast! I used to do a cardio kickboxing class back in the day that was so much. Talk about intense and full body workout.

I want a cookie sandwich too.

Congratulations on the push ups. You’re a bad ass!!
