Good Life Eatery

Most people seem to hate on Mondays.  I kinda like ‘em…even more so when they starts off on a delicious note.  I heard about the Good Life Eatery a few months ago when I was in Mumbai and already knew I would love it.  It’s described as London’s hottest new healthy eating café and cold-pressed juice bar.

My friend Ria & I decided to walk there to work up an appetite  After an hour of strolling through Hyde Park with umbrellas in one hand and Google Maps in the other, we finally reached…starving.   I have a love-hate relationships with places like Good Life Eatery- I love the array of options but hate not enough stomach space to try them all ;)!

Whilst debating on our orders, we shared a Quinoa Scone.  This picture doesn’t do justice to the amount of flavor & texture…so much that we didn’t even miss the jam or clotted cream.

After much contemplation, I rolled with the Sun Salutation Bowl:

Looks divine, doesn’t it?  Wait till I walk you through it: Red & white quinoa with kale & almond pesto, sweet potato cream, 2 poached eggs & toasted pumpkin seeds.  I can’t wait to recreate this at home soon!

Ria went with the Skinny Benedict: Two poached eggs, avocado, almond pesto, cherry tomatoes & yogurt saffron sauce on sunflower rye.  Both were equally delicious.

I was pleasantly stuffed by the end of it!  For the sake of digestion, I walked the journey back home too.  Between the Acai Breakfast Bowl, Chia Pudding made from coconut yogurt, lactose-free Carrot Cake  & Incredible Hulk smoothie, I definitely will be going back to Good Life Eatery soon!

How did you start off your week?

  1. Quinoa scone – do you know if they used quinoa flour or cooked quinoa? I made mocha chocolate chip quinoa scones on Monday with quinoa flour…but tried making mango muffins with same flour and they turned out NAH-STY! Now about that sweet potato cream…with the poached eggs ..good golly so yum!
Un-intentional exercise is the best – every time we try out a new area/park/trail to walk or run, I have this unexplainable ability to get lost which is the only way we get unintentional exercise 🙂

    1. Ohh I am not too sure about the quinoa scone but I will definitely ask next time I go…definitely something I’d love to make at home!

  2. That place looks fantastic! I would have been all over that bowl too. The sweet potato cream is intriguing! I wonder what it’s made of…

I started off my week by starting a new rotation in public health. It’s my last one – only 6 more weeks to go!

    1. I definitely want to recreate that sweet potato cream at home, hopefully it will be worth sharing :)! Congrats on the new rotation!

  3. OMG that looks amazing! I love finding new recipes and of course, new healthy eateries – so happy that that’s a trend now! If you come to NYC, you need to try One Lucky Duck or Hu Kitchen – both so healthy and delicious!

I love Mondays actually. I start off with a workout at Physique 57 and then some oatmeal with banana, honey and walnuts at LPQ after, to kind of get some chill time before the crazy work week starts! 🙂

    1. We have a date mate! I’m heading to Scotland on Sunday so will message you when back to meet up 🙂

  4. Sweet potato cream sauce?! I need to find some way to recreate THAT dish at home too 😛 This sounds like London’s answer to Native Foods Cafe!

  5. OMG that eggs benedict looks AMAZING! I have never had such a delicious treat before in my life, but it’s time I change that!!!!! 🙂 And man, now I really want to go to London! I need to travel in general! GAHH! I feel stuck!
