This, that and the other

Long time, guys!  I usually post on Wednesdays but I gave it a miss this week due to a severe case of bloggers’ block.  I debated discussing food but my meals lately have been anything but innovative. I’ve been defaulting to an old favorite more often than not:

Peanut butter toast with eggs & veggies
Peanut butter toast with eggs & veggies

Creative? Nope!  Delicious? Yessir!  I’m also still loading up on the salads.  As much as there is an art to  throwing together making salads, there’s more of a strategy to eating them.  Mid-way through dinner the other night, I realized I tend to save the best for last…i.e. eat the lettuce and veggies before digging into the ‘good stuff’.  This week’s good stuff has been a mix of roasted sweet potatoes, chickpeas, feta & grilled chicken marinated in Nando’s Lemon & Herb Peri Peri Sauce.

I don’t know how I forgot about that deliciously spicy marinade because that ish is GOOD! I also debated blogging about dinner at Kofuku earlier this week but it seems I’ve been there, done that.  Considering it’s an hour drive away, I’ve eaten there about 5 times in the last 2 months – I guess you could say I’m a fan ;).  I tend to try at least one new dish each time.  This time, that included green tea ice cream:

It’s no Häagen-Dazs but it’s still yum!  And speaking of Häagen-Dazs, tell me I’m not the only one loving their new advert with Bradley Cooper:

Sight for sore eyes, eh! And because this post has turned out to be more food-filled & random than intended, I’ll leave you a final thought: Whoever came up with the phrase “If you look good, then you feel good” obviously never worked out.  Am I right or am I right ;)!  I might have been a sweaty mess by the end of my run on Monday evening but I felt like I drank a shot of endorphins…always a good way to cap off a Monday!

Who’s your eye candy?

Best thing you’ve eaten all week?

  1. Love- love green tea ice cream 🙂 wow Bradley cooper looks very handsome- but my heart belongs to Raoul Bova (married- dam) and Francois Anaurd- (girlfriend-dam) Eating this week has been pained- I have glandular fever! Eating for the first time in a long time is not appealing 🙁 tragedy! But I’m trying to have lots of yummy toast and honey- toast and jam- toast and avocado…. I see a theme developing 😉 chicken broth and pastina even feels a bit much at times- but porridge with honey and apple has been about the best thing (toast and honey is up there though ;)) sorry for all the details of my fever-meals lol Hope you have a lovely weekend Kushboo 🙂 love and hugs Sophia

    1. Ah I’m sorry to hear you are suffering from glandular fever..are you feeling any better? Continue loading up on honey and toast…and add some butter & cinnamon to make it all the more delicious 🙂

      1. A little every day- thanks so much Kushboo 🙂 butter is such a must on almost all toast for me! And cinnamon- genius idea- trying it next time the toaster pops 😉

  2. Haven’t had green tea ice cream in a while…it’s good stuff though! I didn’t like the first few bites when I first tried it, but it grows on you.

And that is definitely one way to convince me to to eat Haagen Daaz! 😉

  3. I order green tea ice cream sometimes for dessert at sushi restaurants, but it’s not my favourite. I like my ice cream with a side of Bradley Cooper please. 😉 I also love Ryan Gosling!

The best thing I’ve eaten all week was actually sushi last night. I got a salmon avocado roll and a roll with salmon, tuna, shrimp, crab, egg and avocado, which was fantastic.

    1. OMG that second roll sounds unreal….sushi on steroids! If I’m ever in Canada, we are going to get sushi together!! 🙂

  4. My meals have really been lacking in the creativity department lately as well, but I’m kind of all about the simple and delicious lately. As much as I’m impressed with some of the meals that bloggers and foodies can come up with, I’m just not willing to put in that much time when it comes to cooking for myself. Like, it’s nice in theory, but in practice? Not.so.much. I’d definitely be putting in a lot more effort if I was cooking for Mr. Cooper, though… and as much as I love ice cream, I’d much rather have him for dessert 😉

  5. leonardo de caprio. period. 😀
okay moving on to tummy-yummy things, best thing this would be a slice of red velvet cake from elmas bakery in hauz khas[delhi] 😐
and my feta scrambled eggs 🙂

  6. Yay you are here 🙂 i have not seen that ad with Bradley Cooper, hes one of my eye candy although there are many on the list..I ate a really spicy appetizer at an Indo-Chinese Restaurant called Lat Mai Kai thats probably the best thing I ate this whole week. Happy Friday and yes after a run in spite of messy sweaty hair/face I feel million dollar!

  7. I have always wanted to try green tea ice cream, and might even take a vegan with benefits day to try it!! YUM! I have writers block right now too, it seems I have nothing worth posting about haha. I love classic meals though, they have been gracing my table all week.

    1. As nice as green tea ice cream was, PLEASE don’t settle for it on a “vegan with benefits” day….go for the classics like cookie dough or cookies ‘n’ cream :D!

  8. Bradley Cooper is a sight for sore eyes. YUM! Today since I started my diet, I decided to indulge in 1 last meal. My friend and I went out for lunch to this French Cafe, I ordered mushroom/leek crepes, omg, it was full of butter and so delicious. No wonder French food tastes amazing, it’s all butter. Have a great weekend K!

  9. Bradley Cooper is the face of Haagen Dazs now?! I don’t know which to lust over more: the ice cream or the hunk. 😉

Peanut butter toast, eggs, and veggies is most definitely a delicious meal–and one that I never tire of, either! As far as green tea ice cream goes: I went through a kick a couple years back, and bought a pint at least once/week, sometimes more. Needless to say, I OD’d, and haven’t had it since. Your photo has induced a major craving, though; I think it’s time to revisit my love.

I’m going to have to agree with Sophia about Raoul Bova–he’s a hottie! She brought him to my attention when I asked about man “types” in Monday’s post, and I had to Google him because I couldn’t put a face to the name. Oh my heavens! He’s not a big actor in the States, but he should be! 😉

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Khushboo! <3 xoxo

  10. I think we have too many bottled sauces (soy sauce, Maggi sauces, ketchups, hot sauces) at a time than we’re able to use, but I wouldn’t mind having those Nando’s sauces in my pantry.

And I love green tea ice cream! It has to be one of my morst favorite flavors. Also in gelato form!

  11. Umm oh HEYYYY to that Bradley Cooper advertisement, makes me want some ice cream and a man all at the same time… well that man in particular. Which I suppose is the point lol. Well they got me!
Nice to read your blog again, I have missed too much of your lovely self!

  12. I like your default favorite: eggs, toast and veggies. Those are a weekly staple for me; sometimes you need an easy cook night, and as you said it is always delicious. I dig your salads too especially the roasted sweet potatoes; they are such a good salad topper.
