Say what now?

Hi guys! Hope you all had a good weekend! Up until Sunday morning, mine was going great. I am in the middle of revamping my blog and let’s just say, I am not as technologically-talented as I once gave myself credit. With the exception of my massage, my Sunday morning involved plenty of “Kill me now” & “FML” moments.  Although there are still a few more tweaks remaining, I am feeling so much more relieved now thanks to Matt’s help. Yesterday, however, I could have definitely used a Beach Bum…or 3:

Yes, I did feel a bit ridiculous while ordering it out loud, but it was well worth the momentary cringiness. Vodka, Malibu, Coconut Water, & Lime: who said that electrolytes were best served during/post-workouts ;)? Speaking of workouts, I had an AMAZING run this morning. It could have been due to 3 reasons:

  1. I made a throwback playlist, and got into the zone (I forgot what a tune Waka Waka is)
  2. It was my first run after 10 days (lower body workouts & running do NOT go hand in hand)
  3. I was still on a sugar high from this weekend.

In terms of dessert, this weekend literally “took the cake”:

  • Rocky Road: Words can’t even explain how delicious it was and too bad I don’t have any proof either. Note to restaurants- ensure your lighting is more conducive to blogging and Instagramming ;)!
  • Freshly baked peanut butter & choc chip cookies

  • My cousin’s choco rocco

I’m convinced that the ugliest food is also the tastiest (ahem oatmeal), and this dessert just confirms that.  Fortunately, sometimes the tastiest foods are also the least time-consuming.

Two Ingredients + 3 Steps = Perfection.

Crush Digestive biscuits, coat the crumbs with melted dark chocolate, refrigerate until hard & serve.

It was SO rich that a few bites were more than enough to do the trick. I should probably add that this recipe was “healthified”…the original recipe also included maple syrup and butter #nojoke.

Despite my frazzled state on Sunday morning, I can only thank Pinterest for keeping me entertained. Let’s be honest, between all the widget/plug-in/HTML/etc jargon, there has to be some “fun” thrown in:

How was your weekend? What fun things did you get up to…or eat?

  1. LOVE the new design! LOVE!!!

And I know what you mean about ugly food tasting the best – story of my life! And the most common lies pic made me laugh…and think – so true!

  2. Love the new blog look–even if it took a little frustration to get done 😉 Definitely deserves a Beach Bum. I’d feel silly ordering that too, but WOW, does it sound good! I’ve got to find a restaurant that serves one of those, I want.

  3. It was a good weekend, I attending a wedding out of town. I had a blast, just carefree with lots of laughs and yummy drinks.

Love the “lies” and “who’s got your back”!

You must try this shot…a “lemon drop” so yummy and not strong 🙂

  4. Eep! Oh girl I’m definitely feeling you on the FML technology woes – I went through exactly the same thing when was putting my blog back up and switching to self-hosted. But if it’s any consolation, it was worth all your effort because things look great 🙂

My weekend was pretty darned good. We -finally- had some nice weather over here so I was able to go out and soak up these last days of summer at the lake. S’mores were involved, as was the sweetest tasting grilled corn that I’ve ever had in my life. Swooooon.

    1. Thanks so much Amanda…glad I’m not the only one who sometimes wants to strangle technology! Your weekend sounds GREAT..especially the s’mores bit ;)!

  5. AHHH I LOVE YOUR NEW BLOG LAYOUT!!!! It looks so schnazzy 🙂
I’m SO with you on the ugliest food being the most delicious haha and that choco rocco sure lives up to it– it sounds SO GOOD 😀

  6. love the new look, so much more office friendly 😉 and fresh.
the desserts look delish and as for my weekend, worked thru sat and sun, 22 hours in two day 😐
and do watch TO LOVE WITH ROME, it’s a movie about nothing, it’s a lovely movie.

    1. Yikes your weekend sounds brutal- hope you managed to find some time to relax! I might just see that movie as it’s playing in the cinema here!

  7. I LOVE the new look! SO clean and professional-looking! I tried making the switch to self-hosting myself..and well, let’s just say that after a long, gruesome day, I threw in my towel..haha..and I NEVER do that! That’s how hopeless I am when it comes to anything computers and technology.

Anyway, I’ve been really busy with school and am just catching up on my fav blogs! This is why I always LOVE coming to you for inspiration and to get that warm, fuzzy feeling inside. I especially love the quote about our parents. Seriously, I’m wishing more than ever lately that I was a better daughter growing up. OH my goodness, and I LOVE choco rocco! Is it really that simple to make? I had no idea! And the nails are to die for! My sister is really into nail art, and she’s quite talented, I must say. Now only if I can stop biting my nails…

    1. Ah you’re so sweet, Min…thank you! Haha I give you a credit for even attempting self-hosting on your own!! It’s way beyond my capability!

And thank you for your comment about my blog and inspiration- so glad you read it :)! My sister is really into nail art too and goes to town with out-of-the-ordinary manicures…my nails live vicariously through her haha!

  8. Ahh the new look is gorgeous! So organized, colorful and just nice, great job girl 🙂 And those truths are hilarious.. the “I didn’t get your text one” made me laugh.. I am guilty of pulling that rather lame excuse at times! The desserts look delicious, rocky road anything gets an a-okay in my book!

  9. Khushboo the blog looks amazing!! 🙂 So professional but still original like before. And what better to beautify the blog than a list of delicious desserts! Mmmm ugly food 😉

  10. The new web look looks great… and so does your cousins choco rocco! I’m all about few ingredients + few steps to put together. haha!

Loved the lie list – the “sorry, my parents said no” one was my favourite to get out of things i didn’t wanna go to while i was in high school. Haha!

    The #hashtag #meme #is #so #spot #on – especially when they have 10 variations of the same hashtag!

    1. Thanks so much for your comment about my new blog layout, Kym! I am #guilty of hashtag overuse and abuse #cantstopwontstop haha!

  11. As I mentioned before – loving the new look – it really does look like you got a new coat of paint on 😀

Ohhh i love those nails but knowing me I’ll have ruined them within the hour. That drink however, they will ruin me 😀

Weekend was good – this weekend will be even better 😀 hurry up week!

    1. Thanks, Sig! I am with you about the nails…as much as I love manicures, I have still never done French! I don’t hold a chance of making them last more than like a minute hah!

  12. Khushboo! The new layout it BEAUTIFUL!! I love the little footprints in the header–so fun and cute! I know how stressful blog redesigning can be, but in this case, it was definitely worth it! (Plus, you had a wonderful excuse to indulge in that beach bum cocktail 😉 I want to try whipping up my own version; I love that it calls for coconut water!).

This Choco Rocco dessert is making my mouth water! Umm, can we say delicious? I wish digestive biscuits were more common in the U.S; our equivalent would probably be graham crackers, although the biscuits are much more cookie-like. I don’t know if I should thank your cousin for this recipe or not (it looks dangerous…in the very best way possible!) 😉 Oh, and I completely agree–the best foods are often the ugliest!

    1. Thanks so much Sara- you’re so sweet! I definitely indulged in a few glasses of wine afterwards..by the time Sunday evening came around, it was a necessity! I am jealous that graham crackers are so freely available in the States…love them, especially as s’mores! Did you ever try Hob Nobs when you were in London? They’re the BEST (preferably chocolate-coated haha)!

  13. Loving the look of the blog! I totally sympathise with your technology issues, I thought I was a bit of a whiz but recently whenever I’ve had to do something I’ve crumbled into a complete mess. Also… that picture of the nails is so so cool!
