Link lovin’

As if you’re not already in a good mood from it bring Friday, here’s one more thing to make you smile:

Thank you, Sonali for sending me this first thing in the morning!

Is it me or has that the whole Fifty Shades craze died down?  As much as I really enjoyed the 1st & 2nd book, I couldn’t get myself to start the 3rd.  I borrowed it from my aunt (yes for real), took it to London and brought it right back unread…yeah I’m over it.  Although I’m not reading any book at the moment, I’ve come across some “Grey-t” online reads this past week.  If you have some free time over the weekend, check them out:

  • McDonalds is opening their first all-veggie outlet: Word on the street net is that it’s opening in India next year, near the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Although I think Big Macs & Chicken Nuggets embody the fast food joint to an extent, this concept has so much potential.  It’s all about knowing your market and catering to the population’s taste.  And speaking of customization, apparently Maccy D’s in Japan has a shrimp burger called the “EBI Filet-O”…now that I can get on board with!

  • 23 Easy Ways to Instantly Make Your Day Better: Creeper alert!  This link was actually posted on a friends wall on Facebook. However in my defense, it popped up on my Facebook newsfeed which naturally makes it free for all to click on…right?

  • Michelle Obama’s Address to the Democratic Convention: Twenty-four years later and I am still yet to vote in a US election.  Although voting this November looks unlikely, there’s no question who I’m rooting for. Especially after Michelle’s speech, I am PrObama all the way!  Reading her speech left me with goosebumps, and I felt more inspired & uplifted than I have in a long time.  My favourite line: “..being president doesn’t change who you are – it reveals who you are.”

  • Weight is not the only indicator of health: Unfortunately overweight people are often immediately stereotyped as being unhealthy.  Yes obesity can result in a whole range of illnesses, but as this article points out factors other than weight need to be taken into consideration.  Depending on his/her level of physical activity, an overweight person can be “metabolically healthy”, and hence be at a low risk of insulin resistance, diabetes, high cholesterol & heart disease.  And on the flip side, a skinny person may be high at risk of a myriad of illnesses: despite a trim appearance, they may carry too much visceral fat and not enough muscle on the inside due to lack of activity.  I guess thin is not always in.

  • Why Women Love Bad Boys: I might be in the minority, but I actually think that good boys are more of a turn on than typical bad boys.  I couldn’t help but laugh while reading through this article.  Basically we women apparently have a carnal appetite, want to tame the beast, and are looking for someone to put us in our place.  Hmm….

And if you’re not in the mood to read, check out

  • this iPhone 5 Promo video.  Especially if you enjoy taking pictures of food (Doesn’t everybody?), you will definitely appreciate this:

What are your thoughts on any of the above?

Came across anything interesting over the past week?

  1. Eeeeheheh thank you for making me laugh with that first pic. I always appreciate a good laugh 😀 And I’m totally with you on the whole good boy vs. bad boy thing… I want a good guy! That being said, when I was younger all I wanted was the bad boys, but I’m sooo happy I grew out of that phase because who need the extra heartache?

  2. MIchelle really was incredible… it’s my first time actually paying attention to all of this! A bit embarrassing but true lol
And I enjoyed the article about weight not being all about health. So so true, even though I have focused on what my weight is for all of this time.. I was also unhealthy at my lowest! So yes, it doesn’t indicate true well-being.

  3. Stick with your nice guys it will make your life 1000x easier! 🙂 And totally agree that skinny doesn’t = good health necessarily, fat and fit is better then skinny and unfit! 🙂

  4. Michelle’s address at the DNC left me with goosebumps, too!! It was an incredibly inspiring speech; I now want HER to run for president! Michelle 2016? 😉

I definitely agree that good boys are better than bad boys! I’ve never had a desire to date a bad boy! Sure, occasionally I’m attracted to them physically, but it stops there!

I kind of wish the iPhone 5 wasn’t happening…I’m too tempted to buy one!

Hope you’re having a fantastic weekend! xoxo <3

    1. If Michelle runs for 2016, she already has my vote!! And I totally agree about the iPhone 5…I’d be more than relieved if its release date was pushed back a few more months 😉

  5. Khushboo – i love your new blog look, so much cleaner and crisp! nice job!
sorry i haven’t been writing in comments – life took a different turn for a while and thus i haven’t been able to blog.
