Fri-Yay Favorites

Happy Fri-yay!  Do you want the good news or bad news first?  Tough you don’t get to choose:

  • Good news: We have a whole weekend of us!
  • Bad News (at least for the Monday haters): There are 5 Mondays in September…yikes!

To wrap up the week, and the month by default, I’ll leave you with some of my current favorites:

1)  Breakfast in bed: With the monsoon rains finally in full swing, I’ve switched my morning workouts to after work.  As much as I enjoy working out, hearing hell break loose outside really does nothing for my motivation to get out of bed.  And let’s be honest: who doesn’t love crawling back into bed with a bowl of oats & coffee?  Speaking of coffee, check out this picture which my fellow Starbucks-deprived friend sent me:

2) DL1961 jeans: You know how they say good things come in 3? In the last month, I’ve managed to find 3 pairs of jeans which fit me like a glove, one of which is a DL1961 pair.  The brand’s USP is their 4-WAY stretch XFIT LYCRA® fabric, which “contours ever curve of the body to provide an unparalleled custom tailored fit, which will never sag, bag, or lose its shape.”  I can personally vouch that this is not just a bunch of marketing jargon!

3) Homemade iced mochas: As much as I crave Starbucks on a regular basis, these make an excellent alternative.  Actually with only 40 cals, 0.5g sugar and a whopping 8g protein it’s actually a better alternative: Refrigerated black coffee blended with half a scoop of chocolate protein powder (I use Sunwarrior) & a splash of milk.

4) Suits: I’m only 6 episodes in and I’m already hooked!  Because of all the legal talk, it’s one of those TV shows that doesn’t make you feel brain-dead while watching.  If you need a new TV show to get into, watch this show!  And if you’re not a fan of legal dramas,  I should probably add that the 2 main guys Harvey & Mike are extreme eye candy…I’m just sayiiin’

Who doesn’t like a guy in a suit?

5) Cheddar & Mushroom Omelets: I don’t know if this has to do with the fact that this simple combo tastes like perfection or whether it’s because  it can be prepared within 5 minutes.  Whatever it is, I can’t stop eating ‘em- last night’s dinner involved my 4th omelet of the week!   For someone who has eaten plenty of plain egg-white omelets in the past, all I can say is What was I thinking!

Gotta love the Ketchup blob on the bottom right ;)!

What’s a current favorite of yours?

nb. i have a new blog post 🙂 [sorry for being so on your face :-|]

  3. Yeyyyy!! I knew you’d love Suits, yes Mike and Harvey – best looking lawyers ever! I still can’t decide who my favourite is. Those jeans look so great, I wish I could try some as looking for a right pair of jeans now but I don’t have access to any of the stores that sell them 🙁 Definitely when I go to the US! Best secret menu ever! 🙂

  4. BIB… the best thing ever! specially in these rainy days..

  5. Omg that secret Starbucks menu is GOLD. The capn crunch one is making me foam at the mouth haha
A current fave of mine– egg and peanut butter sandwiches baby 😉

  6. I recently heard about that starbucks menu, oh my goodness do I have to order one sometime… the capn crunch one in particular 🙂 Boo to five Mondays in September! Not a nice thing to be reminded of haha

  7. OH holy! MY eyes immediately found “The Nutella.” I need to find some new pairs of jeans…I’ve outgrown mine…:( Bittersweet feeling. I’m loving this one Korean drama that I’m watching…so addictive

  8. We found the finest ingredient to liven up an omelet – black truffle salt – sprinkled sparingly! Come over next sunday x A.D.

  9. All those Starbucks menu items sound like diabetes in a cup…hahaha

How do those jeans fit around the waist? I have such issues finding jeans that fit me. If I buy them to fit my legs and butt, they’re too loose in the waist, but I can’t get into ones that fit my waist. I always get bloated from wearing jeans too – I’m always joking that I have a weird allergy! I think it’s because it was never ever cold enough to wear jeans in Perth, so I never had to do it until I moved to Sydney and my body couldn’t cope. I hate them!

    1. Hahaha about the Starbucks menu- perfect description! The jeans fit great around the waist, they more of a mid rise which I prefer! Especially as the fabric does have some stretch to it, they may actually work perfectly with your waist and thigh proportions. #bodybuilderproblems hahaha 🙂
