Five Thing Friday

I was going to put up a “Five Thing Friday” post but I actually have 7 things to blog about.  So let’s just consider this a “Five Thing Friday” post with 2 for good luck ;):

1) By the time this post is up, I will be in Singapore…which means I’m on holiday for 12 days- woo hoo! If it’s even half as fun as my last trip there, I am in for an amazing time:

2) At some point during the next 5 days, this will be me:

I am visiting my BFF Sonali & her family in Singapore.  Last week she messaged me asking if I wanted to try wakeboarding.  I don’t know whether I’m excited or scared for my life but either way, it’s on the itinerary.

3) I love Duty Free Shopping, and have one thing in particular on my list: Van Gogh Peanut Butter & Jelly flavored vodka.  As Patron tastes like tiramisu, I have high hopes for this flavor. If only they invented a peanut butter & chocolate flavor too…ie. Reese’s for grown-ups 😉 !

4) I want to get this framed:

# 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 18, 19, & 21 especially resonate with me!

5) My sister went to boarding school 8 years before me, which meant I played the role of “only child” for a long while (my bro was long gone by then).  While I missed both her and my brother’s company, I can’t say I didn’t enjoy some of the perks such as all of my parent’s attention was focused on me the gifts they regularly sent me from London.  Fortunately that hasn’t stopped, and my sister still sends me care packages every so often:

Nasi Goreng paste, caramel & apple rice cakes, a CD with new music, an egg poacher and KIND bars

6) Although my cousin laughed at me for wanting to go see a movie “aimed at 10-year-olds”, I enjoyed Mirror Mirror!  I have never actually seen original Snow White so I can’t say how well of an adaptation it is to the fairy-tale.  Although it’s not a movie I could watch over and over again like Cinderella Story, it made for some good Sunday entertainment. Plus it helped that Julia Roberts played the “fairest of them all” Queen.

7) I have mentioned my aversion towards lunges in the past. It turns out they’re not so bad, and do I dare say that I’ve grown rather fond of them?  Over the past few weeks, I have been trying all sorts of variations and 2 favorites are:

  • Reverse Lunges

  • Side Lunges

Give me one of your Friday ‘things’ :)!

  1. Uhh, Singapore sounds fabulous, I can’t wait to hear/see all about it! I also want PB&J alcohol now…yummm. And gotta admit, my friend and I usually nom on Reese’s cereal while we’re drinking alcoholic drinks…that’s SORT OF like reese’s alcohol, once it’s all mixed and stuff, right?

  2. Oooh.. Singapore. THat’s awesome K. Dude, I didn’t know about the Van Gogh PB&J vodka, I have to find out about that, and buy it! I love stuff like that. I did lunges around my apartment yesterday, I feel pain this morning. I need to switch up my workouts.

My friday’s Favorites are on my site. 🙂
The Elvis Cupcake, Rao’s Homemade Pasta Sauce, Zara top!
    Have a great vaca.

  3. That vodka..OH my lord! GIVE ME! That looks amazing..if it tastes like candy..I am in trouble! I need to try the cake flavored vodka too..I am so behind on alcohol I haven’t had any in a year..wowza! Have a great time!!

  4. DO it!!! DO IT!! Wakeboarding was THE most awesomest fun I had in Hong Kong!! You will get addicted to it trust me 😀

I’m going to Singapore for a day or so in June so would love to hear things to do etc there since I’ve only ever been there as a stopover on my way to India lol.

    1. I’m super excited- we’re doing it tomorrow and my only goal is to be able to lift myself up! I will definitely put up noteworthy things I did here…just be sure to bring your appetite!

Haha I love that “23 adult truths”. So true about folding a fitted sheet – I have NEVER been able to figure it out! 😛

    Have fun on your vacation!

  6. I hope you have a great time in Singapore!!
Wakeboarding is hard, but fun and such a good workout! Last time (which was my first time) I did it, my arms and shoulders were so sore the next day!
I love watching movies and just relaxing now on Fridays after the baby is asleep. Since we don’t have much time to relax during the week, it’s something me and my husband look forward to 🙂

  7. Have wonderful time in Singapore. I hope you love the wake-boarding and are able to find that vodka. My trainer used to make me do lunges with my foot raised on a step – the next day I couldn’t walk xx

  8. Hope you’re having fun on your vacay. One of my (late) Friday things is sprouts. I’ve been eating them all the time and adding them to everything I cook.
