Wednesday Waffle

…and I don’t mean the edible kind :)!  As there’s been quite a few things I want to mention, but none of which are worthy of an entire post, I thought I’d just hodge podge it all into one…bullet point style.  Just for the record, I am an eternal list-maker, which explains why these kinds of posts are my favorite to write:

  • Over the weekend, I finally completed a task I’ve been putting off forever: I updated my Recipe and Workout pages, so please check them out.
  • Downton Abbey is doing no favors for my social life.  All I wanted to do last week was stay at home and watch the Granthams & Co….good thing I’ve finished both series 1 & 2 now.

  • I can’t get enough of rice cakes topped with mashed avocado, salt & black pepper.  Sounds like a pretty random obsession but it hits the spot every time!

  • I am loving the colored denim trend.  However, on me? Not so much!  For now the only colored pants I’ll be wearing in public will be in the form of Indian attire.
  • April is in 4 days, which means Easter holidays are either nearing or have already started.  How I miss the days of being in education where every other month called for some holiday or another!
  • My BFF recently opened up a dessert bar called Sugadaddy which sells 6 various fro yo flavors.  This is possibly the best & worst thing to happen to me.

  • Apparently egg poachers are a rare commodity: despite searching Dubai & Mumbai high and low, I am still without one.
  • My appreciation for American chocolate merely extends to Reeses but could I really resist these:

  • As I was coming out of the shower last week, I slipped and fell flat on my ribs.  Consider this a PSA to be extra cautious when the floor is wet.
  • I am kinda getting bored of the Body For Life HIIT format, so I have been making up a few of my own HIIT workouts to complete on the cardio days.  Here’s one I did last week:

Your turn now: What’s been going on in your life?  Clearly there are no limits to how random it might be :)!

  1. omg you fell?? are you okay? that’s one thing that always worried me when I was in India, the floor was always wet, at least in the homes where I hang out.
I fell in the tub last week… kinda funny… i think there was some soap.

nothing new in life… just looking for the “perfect” apartment in nyc with not a crazy price tag.

    1. I’m totally fine now- just during the first few days I kept getting random spasms of pain! Hope YOU’RE okay though after your fall! Good luck with the apartment hunting….’perfect’ and ‘crazy price tag’ seem to be synonymous!

  2. I need those Hershey’s eggs ASAP! Funny I was just saying that I had the hankering for something sweet 🙂

And not too much going on for me – just travelling a lot in April 🙂 Never a bad thing though!

  3. I love your recipe page (I had never visited before..), nice intro 🙂
We love the same thing: rice cracker with avocado + salt n pepper. Simple seasoning, but it’s such a good combination! Perfect for a snack!

I’m on spring break from school, so I’m mostly relaxing and spending lots of time with my sick baby (now a little better though..)

  4. I am totally addicted to rice cakes with mashed avocado, salt and pepper too at the moment! crazy i see this on your blog, i really thought i am a big exception 🙂

      1. jep definitely!! u know today i mixed the mashed avocado with some hemp protein powder, lemon, salt and pepper! try it, so yummy!!

  5. Ohhh my goodness that dessert bar would be dangerous for me! I think your rice cake topping sounds super delicious. I am going to try that very soon. I HOPE YOUR RIB IS OK!?!

Oh and most importantly, I am with you 100% on the colored denim..I lovee the look of blue, red, white and yellow jeans..but I couldn’t look good wearing a pair if my life depended on it.

  6. You should check out toneitup dot com or self magazine’s website for more HIIT workouts. The TIU trainers put together the workouts for Self’s drop 10 pounds challenge and pretty much all of the cardio sessions are HIITs.
