One form of exercising which I love yet don’t do nearly enough is circuit training. As it is a form of conditioning that combines both strength training and high intensity aerobic exercise, it’s a great way to kill 2 birds with one stone and fit in a total body workout. Although they are relatively short, these workouts are quite high-paced which means your heart rate stays up…and there’s no chance of boredom creeping in- sweet deal, eh?
This kind of training served me well when I was in Dubai. As I really didn’t want to spend too much time doing things I could do in Mumbai (e.g. enter a gym), these workouts enabled me to get my sweat on in just 20 minutes…without even having to leave my room! Once Body For Life is over, I definitely plan to bring back circuit workouts, especially on those days where time is money short. Although these workouts can either be recycled or changed up to incorporate various moves, here’s one that I did in Dubai. And for what it’s worth, it definitely humbled me…i.e. it got me huffin’ & puffin’ more than I imagined:
For the exercises which might not be so commonly heard of, here are links on how to complete them:
That looks like a great workout! Ugh, those burpees though, they kill me every time!
Notice the number of reps for burpees were less than every other exercise ;)!
Looks like a tough routine! I used to not like these type of workouts at all, but since getting into BodyRock I can’t get enough. It’s such a great, intense sweat!
I want to try Body Rock- I love that it can be done at home!
Love this! I did something similar this morning and was dripping in sweat at the end of 30 minutes. It’s amazing what a little extra effort can do! Definitely giving this a go next time I need an at home, quick workout. 🙂
There’s something about not having to leave home which makes working out that much more appealing, right!
This looks like great workout! I had no idea what Donkey kicks were thanks for the video. I chuckled a bit a that Donkey kick…i’m so going to try it. It looks like it will work the core 🙂
Have a good day!
Ha ha try doing it in a gym/public space- u’ll really feel like an “ass” ;)!
Ew burpees… =( They make us do a lot of those in my boot camp class. Definitely not a fan. You workout definitely looks intense.
Burpees are my nemesis…hate them!
Burpees…. hurl… but in a great way! haha they work your body good 🙂
Awesome workout here!
Glad you share my sentiments towards burpees!
Looks like a similar workout to what my bootcampers do every night / morning! Love it that you’re doing it on your own and getting after it! 😉 That’s awesome.
Thanks Jamie! That’s awesome you teach bootcamp, would love to try one out!
I remember you mentioned about spiderman plank, finally found out what exactly it was.
Wow! Plank taken to a new level!!!
Let me know if you try it out- I actually prefer them to regular planks!
Looks like a winner 🙂
It’s been a while with burpees — gotta get that rolling in after I recuperate for a small accident. Darn!
