The Apple of my “i”

The first few things I check when I first open my eyes in the morning are:

  1. Blackberry messenger
  2. E-mails
  3. Twitter
  4. Words With Friends 😉

The last thing I expected when I reached number 3 was to read about the passing of Steve Jobs…which was ironically via my iTouch.  From being a visionary and constantly taking technology to new heights to being an inspiration to mankind, I know I’m not alone when I say he will be dearly missed.  He has created a technology geek in me which I never knew existed, opened up gateways for a number of industries, and redefined the way children and adults alike interact with one another.  To put it simply, Steve Jobs has changed the world.

Up until today, I merely equated him to iPods & Apple.  After spending a portion of the day Googling him and watching YouTube videos, I’ve come to realise how much more he is.  Steve Jobs is proof that words, if pieced together well, can transform, inspire and empower.  Actions speak louder than words and his life reinforces that no dream or vision is too far from our reach.  I am sure many of you have already heard the speech he gave at Stanford in 2005, but for those who haven’t, I can’t urge you enough.

**To the legend that will keep on giving, even past his time.  R.I.P. Steve Jobs**

“Again, you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.  So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”  – Steve Jobs, 2005

  1. After hearing about him, I felt, someone I knew closely passed away. It is very very sad. His Stanford speech is a true piece of inspiration and the dots quote, well I think we all can relate to it!

  2. Thanks for posting this Khushboo, he really was such a visionary 🙁 When my roommate told me the news this morning I genuinely thought it was an internet hoax – still so shocked and saddened. Also I love that quote about connecting the dots, very insightful.

    Rest in peace, Steve!

  3. I honestly cried before going to sleep last night. He really was a true visionary, innovator, and most importantly, motivator. It’s so sad to see him leave the world so early…I only hope our generation and generations to come learn from him and see that they too can change the world in their own ways.

    Great tribute!

  4. Thank you for posting this video; it is so sad that another one of us has been lost to cancer; and this man has done so much for the world- such an inspiration and innovator. RIP
