Finding ‘The One’

I’d like to think I’m a savvy spender, i.e. that I’m sensible with my finances.  There are a  few things which irk me more than forking over a hefty amount of money and not feel like I’m getting my money’s worth.  While spending over a month’s salary on a pair of shoes or handbag may seem ridiculous to some, I personally view both as an investment (hello, Chanel 🙂).

Jeans, however, not so much.  Up until recently, I could never understand how such ordinary material could warrant such exorbitant price tags.  Cashmere yes, denim no.  When my friends’ closets would house multiple pairs of True Religions and Rock & Republics, I would relish at the fact that my Topshop Pippas fit me like a glove.  After trying on my first pair of J Brands, it looks like I’m having the last laugh.  I now see the fuss…totally!

I don’t know what they inject in their denim but JBrand seem to have hit the nail on the head.  Flattering is one thing, but these seem to have conformed to my body…the length was perfect too!  Besides the fact that they made my butt look good look, I know I’ll get my money’s worth.   Something tells me that these are like the “LBD” of the denim world- i.e. they’ll pass off for any occasion. Here’s hoping my wallet is as convinced about these jeans.  If not, Mummy, I hope you’re reading 🙂

What’s your materialistic fetish?

I know what you’re talking about….. I paid $7 for a pair of Jeans in Mexico and now they are my cut offs…. and my CK Jeans are such a dream….

  2. J Brand is the BEST, I’m on my 2nd pair 🙂
Handbags are also my fetish- are we the same person!?! When I saw the image of the Chanel quilted bag I was like, SHE IS MY GIRL! As much as I love shoes I cannot get myself to fork over $500+ until I have a decent income, but bags are fair game. As for jeans…I get a lot of mine on sale (the designer ones) but occasionally will have a splurge.

  3. I’m on the eternal search for perfect jeans!! My body still is changing(apparently I grew half an inch which is major) so I don’t know when I should REALLY start looking. I’ll consider these now!
