What I’m NOT diggin’

I’m normally quite a fairly positive person. I try to, for the most part, see the silver lining of every situation.  But sometimes, there are things which just…how do I say it nicely…piss me off!  Excuse my rant but I just gotta get some things off my chest:

1)Unexpected increases in flight fares
After days of procrastinating, why is it that flight fares hike up ON the day I have my dates finalized and credit card out to book?? Yes it’s my fault but that doesn’t make the situation any less annoying!

2) When people say they’re full/about to burst after a perfectly normal amount of food. My response: ‘I’m not, in fact I feel great!’

3)The change in Diet Coke size from 330 to 300ml.  I’m getting cheated before my own eyes!

4) Nails which chip 5 minutes after leaving the nail salon.  Everything was going SO smoothly yet before I knew it, my thumbnail had chipped.  I blame it on excessive Blackberry usage :(.

5) Unpunctual  people. If my mom taught me one thing, it’s to be on time.  Occasional lateness is fine but when it’s happens repeatedly, you may as well as spit on my face: unpunctuality = lack of respect for my time.

…And speaking of respect:

6) Being called ma’am.  The longer I live in Mumbai, the more apparent cultural differences become.  I know the use of ‘ma’am’ and ‘sir’ is a sign of respect but it just reminds me of the slavery days when slaves were forced to say that to their masters.  Not only that, I’m 22, not 84! Calling all baristas, taxi drivers, store clerks, waiters etc: you can show respect by doing your job right!

Now you go on and have a great day 🙂

  1. I agree with the nail chipping issue esp. after I’ve spent a tiny fortune getting them done professionally in London!

  2. WHAT! They changed the Diet Coke size??? That’s terrible!! Lol. Totally worth being negative about!!! I’m moving back to the States soon! I need my full ounces!! Haha. And the flight prices are insane right now! 🙂
