My Current Digs part IV

1) Morels: Up until my mom made me mushroom risotto last week, I had no idea what these were. PSA: they are a rare kind of wild mushroom that is often dried for future use.  Their wonderful & strong flavor is perfect for a fungi lover like myself.  I want more morels!

2) White Kidney Beans: It drives me nuts when people argue that veggies/vegans don’t get enough protein.  Although I am not one myself, much of my protein intake comes from plant sources i.e. 1 cup of kidney beans=15g protein.

3) Robert Pattinson: I know, I know…I’m late on the R-Pattz bandwagon but I made it!  When Twilight released, I really couldn’t understand the fuss over him!  After Water for Elephants, however, I am a convert- what a fox!

4) Goat Cheese: How did I spend years using Laughing Cow as a cheese spread- what was I thinking! In a sandwich, on a salad, paired with apples, goat cheese is the jam…oh it tastes awesome with jam too for that matter 🙂

5) Reverse Crunches. I’ve been doing traditional crunches since the start of my workout career so they’ve kinda gotten old!  Reverse crunches are a fun twist to the traditional crunches and they also target the lower abs: instead of bringing your upper torso to your knees, bring your knees toward your chest (feet together), and then use your abs to curl your hips off the floor and into your chest.

6) Cantaloupe Boats i.e. cut a melon in half, scoop out the guts/seeds and replace the hollow area with yogurt & granola.  Talk about efficiency: no fuss of chopping it all up AND I get to eat a snack without dirtying a dish.

7) Words With Friends app: I’ve been playing since last summer but my addiction has peaked.  I am the annoying opponent who scores a triple letter & triple word in one turn: BOO-YAH!  If you are for the challenge, my name is Khushboo Thadani (shocker) so send me a request :)!

  1. I couldn’t stand Robert Pattinson because of all the Twilight hype – I thought he was overrated. Well, I haven’t watched the Twilight series, but I saw him in “Remember Me” and oh my gosh, I fell head over heels 😉 LOVE him now, haha!
